The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of mothers’ communication abilities on their parenting attitudes and to verify the mediating effect of parenting efficacy. For this purpose, a survey was conducted with 261 mothers of children aged 2 to 5 years attending early childhood education institutions in Suwon, Ansan, and Hwaseong cities in Gyeonggi Province, and the collected data were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 for correlation and mediation effect analysis to verify the mediation effect. The research results showed that, first, the correlation among communication ability, parenting attitudes, and parenting efficacy was statistically significant. Second, the relationship between mothers’ communication abilities and parenting attitudes was partially mediated by parenting efficacy. These results suggest that improving mothers’ communication abilities and enhancing parenting efficacy play an important role in improving parenting attitudes. This confirms the need for the development and application of parent education programs that simultaneously enhance mothers’ communication abilities and parenting efficacy.

본 연구의 목적은 어머니의 의사소통능력이 양육태도에 미치는 영향을 알아보고 양육효능감의 매개효과를 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위해 경기도 수원시, 안산시, 화성시 소재 유아교육기관에 재원중인 만 2세 ~ 만 5세 영유아를 자녀로 둔 어머니 261명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 25.0을 이용하여 상관분석 및 매개효과 분석을 수행하여 매개효과를 검증하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 의사소통능력, 양육태도, 양육효능감의 상관관계는 통계적으로 유의하 였다. 둘째, 어머니의 의사소통능력과 양육태도 사이의 관계는 양육효능감이 부분 매개하였다. 본 연구결과는 어머니의 의사소통능력 향상과 양육효능감 증진이 양육 태도 개선에 중요한 역할을 하는 것을 시사한다. 이는 어머니의 의사소통능 력과 양육효능감을 동시에 증진시킬 수 있는 부모 교육 프로그램의 개발 및 적용이 필요한 것을 확인하였다.
