The purpose of this study is to develop fashi on illustrations using Zentangle focusing on Kor ean Dancheong patterns. Research methods incl uded literature research and empirical research. The theoretical background of Zentangle and K orean Dancheong patterns was examined throu gh literature research. As an empirical study, 6 actual fashion illustrations were developed and the process and results were discussed. The research results are as follows. First, Zen tangle patterns and Korean Dancheong patterns showed similarities in pattern materials and styl istic expressions. As a result, it was possible to create a natural fusion of the two patterns and a harmonious result. Second, by using the Kore an Dancheong pattern as a Zentangle pattern, i t was possible to create a unique Zentangle fas hion illustration with Korean values, and the re sult has the value of integrating new, old, and Eastern and Western cultures. Third, using Zent angle in fashion illustration was found to be an effective way to increase the density of express ion in a short period of time just by its form a lone. Fourth, Zentangle fashion illustration, whi ch involves spontaneously filling and decorating patterns, provided an opportunity to create une xpected, unique and new results and discover c reative drawing styles. Fifth, fashion illustrations using Zentangle, focusing on Korean Dancheon g patterns, provided interest, immersion, conce ntration, and psychological stability during the drawing process. In addition, it provided a sens e of satisfaction and accomplishment by creatin g unique and new results from unfamiliar drawi ng experiences. This study is significant in that it suggests a new method of expression for fas hion illustration and expands the value of fashi on illustration creation.

이 연구의 목적은 한국 단청 문양을 중심으로 젠탱 글을 활용한 패션일러스트레이션을 개발하는 것이다. 연구 방법으로 문헌 연구와 체험 연구를 실시하였다. 문헌 연구를 통해 젠탱글과 한국 단청 문양의 이론을 고찰하였고, 체험 연구로서 패션일러스트레이션 실물 6 점을 개발하고 그 과정과 결과를 논하였다. 연구 결과 는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 젠탱글 패턴과 한국 단청 문양 은 패턴의 소재와 양식적 표현 등에서 유사성을 지니고 있었으며 그로 인해 패션일러스트레이션에서 두 패턴의 자연스러운 융합과 시각적으로 조화로운 결과물 창출이 가능하였다. 둘째, 한국 단청 문양을 젠탱글 패턴으로 활용하여 한국적 가치를 지닌 독창적인 젠탱글 패션일 러스트레이션을 창출할 수 있었으며, 그 결과는 신·구, 동·서 문화 통합의 가치를 지닌다. 셋째, 패션일러스트 레이션에 젠탱글을 활용하는 것은 형태만으로도 단시간 내에 표현의 밀도를 높이는 효과적인 방법임을 알 수 있었다. 넷째, 즉흥적으로 패턴을 채우고 장식하는 젠 탱글 패션일러스트레이션은 예상하지 못한 독특하고 새 로운 결과물 창출과 창의적인 드로잉 스타일 발견의 기 회를 제공하였다. 다섯째, 한국 단청 패턴을 중심으로 젠탱글을 활용한 패션일러스트레이션은 드로잉 과정에 서 흥미, 몰입, 집중, 심리적 안정감을 제공하였고, 낯 선 드로잉 경험으로부터 독특하고 새로운 결과물을 창 출케 하여 만족감과 성취감을 느끼게 하였다. 이 연구 는 패션일러스트레이션을 위한 새로운 표현 방법을 제 시하고, 패션일러스트레이션 창작의 가치를 확장한다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
