This study was an attempt to examine maternal love in Korea and Japan based on Actantial Modele and then extract the implications and myths of each mother using Butler's theory of performativity. First, assuming that the sender committed the murder of two sons and applying it to Actantial Modele, the recipients were mothers in common but the content was very different. While the Korean mother worked hard for her son's survival the Japanese mother was desperate for her own survival, not her son's survival. Ultimately, the former succeeded in obtaining the object, albeit temporarily, while the latter failed due to his son's imprisonment. Through this the performativity learned was that Korean mothers must protect their children even if their parents are poor and incompetent and Japanese mothers had an inherent performative maternal identity in that they had a relatively weaker sense of responsibility for their children than Korean mothers. The implications and myths analyzed based on this were that the Korean mother's expressive image was a devoted mother. the content image was a mother with distorted values. and the Japanese mother's expressive image was an immature mother. and the content image was a selfish and twisted mother.

본 연구는 행위소 모형을 기저로 한일 양국의 모성 애를 고찰한 후 버틀러의 수행성 이론을 활용하여 각 마더의 함의와 신화를 추출하려는 시도였다. 먼저 발신 자를 두 아들의 살인 행위로 상정하고 행위소 모형에 대입해 보면 수신자는 공통적으로 엄마들이 되나 그 내 용은 매우 달랐다. 주체자인 한국 마더는 모성애를 협 조자로 대상인 아들의 생존에 전력이었다면 일본 마더 는 아들과 자신의 생존욕을 협조자로 대상은 아들의 생 존이 아닌 자신의 생존에 필사적이었다. 최종적으로 대 상 획득에 전자는 일시적으로나마 성공하였고 후자는 아들의 수감으로 인해 실패하게 된다. 그 다음 수행성 은 한국 마더는 부모가 가난하고 무능하더라도 자식은 반드시 지켜내야 한다 였고 일본 마더는 한국보다는 상대적으로 자녀에게 덤덤하고 책임감이 약하다는 수행적 모성 정체성이 내재되어 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이를 토 대로 분석한 함의와 신화는 한국 마더의 표현이미지는 헌신적인 엄마가 내용이미지는 왜곡된 가치관이 내재된 엄마였고 일본 마더는 표현이미지는 철이 없는 엄마가 내용이미지는 이기적이고 뒤틀린 엄마가 내재되어 있었다.
