This study explores the longitudinal outcomes of a multicultural integration program conducted at the B Welfare Center in Region A. The program is based on child-led play and cultural experience activities and was conducted over three years with a total of 18 children, including both migrant-background and non-migrant-background children. The research methodology included conducting annual Focus Group Interviews (FGIs) to gather insights into the children's experiences, supplemented by qualitative thematic analysis to evaluate the outcomes. The results of the study can be summarized as follows: first, the program significantly enhanced native children’s understanding of multiculturalism; second, it positively influenced the peer relationships and school life for both immigrant and native children; third, it improved the self-esteem and self-leadership of the participating children. The findings of this study highlight the need for the continuing and expanding the multicultural integration programs and provide implications for practical and policy necessary for the administration of such programs.

본 연구는 A지역 B복지관에서 실시된 다문화 통합프로그램의 종단적 성과를 평 가하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 프로그램은 아동이 주도하는 놀이와 문화체험 활동 을 기반으로 하며, 이주배경과 비이주배경 아동이 포함된 총 18명의 아동을 대 상으로 3년간 진행되었다. 연구방법으로 프로그램에 참여한 아동을 대상으로 연 속적인 초점집단면접(Focus Group Interview)을 진행하였으며 수집된 자료를 바 탕으로 주제분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구를 통해 얻어진 결과를 요약해보면 다음 과 같다. 첫째, 다문화 통합프로그램을 통해 선주민 아동의 다문화 이해도가 증 가하였다. 둘째 이주배경과 비이주배경 아동의 또래관계와 학교생활이 긍정적으 로 변화되었다. 셋째, 이주배경과 비이주배경 아동의 자아존중감과 주도성이 향 상되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 다문화 통합프로그램의 지속적 운영 필요성을 제기 하며, 다문화 통합프로그램 운영에 필요한 실천적, 정책적 지원방안을 제안하는 데 시사점을 가진다.
