This study aims to reveal the specificity and educational meaning of drama classes by observing and analyzing the interactions between teachers and students in actual classes from the perspective of Bakhtin's dialogism. Bakhtin viewed ‘dialogue as the core of human existence’ and sought to understand the essential relationships and attributes of individuals, society, and culture through dialogue. This study was conducted at two different elementary schools, targeting drama classes by a classroom teacher and a TA in charge of school arts education. The interaction patterns and characteristics of teachers and students in drama classes analyzed based on the collected data are as follows. First, teachers and students interact in a situation where reality and fiction coexist. Second, teachers and students actively communicate while wearing various roles as writer (other), protagonist, and audience. Third, teachers use centripetal language to change students' level of understanding through drama, and students use centrifugal language to freely express their individual interests, interests, and imagination. Fourth, teachers provide a dramatic format for students to express their experiences and explore their meaning. This study sought to reveal that the interaction between teachers and students in drama classes contributes to democratic communication and student-centered teaching practice. It is hoped that this study will be helpful in strengthening the understanding of drama and teaching abilities of teachers who pursue true communication and shared growth with students through drama classes.

본 연구는 실제 드라마 수업에서 이루어지는 교사와 학생의 상호작용을 바흐친의 대화주의관점에서 관 찰하고 분석하여 드라마 수업의 특수성과 교육적 의미를 밝히고자 하였다. 바흐친은 인간 존재의 핵심 을 ‘대화’로 보고 대화를 매개로 개인과 사회, 문화의 본질적 관계와 속성을 이해하고자 하였다. 본 연구 는 각각 다른 초등학교 두 곳에서 학교 문화예술교육을 담당하는 담임교사와 예술 강사의 드라마 수업 을 대상으로 진행되었다. 수집 자료를 바탕으로 분석한 드라마 수업에서 교사와 학생의 상호작용 양상 과 특징은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교사와 학생은 현실과 허구가 공존하는 상황에서 상호작용한다. 둘째, 교 사와 학생은 작가(타자)-주인공-관객으로 다양한 역할을 입고 활발하게 소통한다. 셋째, 교사는 드라마 를 통해 학생들의 이해 수준을 변화시키고자 구심적 언어를 사용하고, 학생은 개인의 관심과 흥미, 상상 력을 마음껏 발산하는 원심적 언어를 사용한다. 넷째, 교사는 학생들이 경험을 표현하고 그 의미를 탐구 할 수 있도록 드라마 형식을 제공한다. 본 연구는 드라마 수업에서 교사와 학생의 상호작용이 민주적 소통과 학생 중심 교육 실천에 기여하고 있음을 밝혀내고자 하였다. 이 연구가 드라마 수업을 통해 학생들 과 진정한 소통과 동반적 성장을 추구하는 교사들의 드라마에 대한 이해 및 수업 역량 강화에 도움이 되기를 기대한다.
