In a diverse and complex society, research has been conducted on the necessity of introducing case management, a field of social work practice, as an alternative to meet the needs and solve the problems faced by soldiers within military camps. The study compared and analyzed school case management and military case management, focusing on the components of case management. The implications of the study are as follows: from the perspective of service users, soldiers in military camps had more complex and long-term needs and problems compared to users of school case management. From the perspective of case managers, school case management is operated by dedicated school social workers through the Educational Welfare Priority Support Project, whereas military case management is mostly carried out by commanders. In terms of social resources, the linkage with the community is more inadequate compared to school case management. Considering the characteristics of soldiers in military camps, who have more complex and long-term needs and problems than school service users, it is necessary to develop and apply a case management model suitable for the military environment.

다양하고 복잡한 사회 속에서 문제를 안고 있는 병영 내 장병들에게 그들의 욕구를 충족하고 문제를 해결하기 위한 대안으로 사회복지실천의 한 분야인 사례관리(case management) 도입의 필요성에 대해 연구하였다. 연구는 사례관리 구성요소를 중심으로 학교사례관리와 병영 내 사례관리를 비교 분석하였고, 시사점으로는 서비스 이용자 측면에서 학교사례관리 이용자 보다 병영 내 이용자가 복 합적이고 장기적인 욕구와 문제를 가지고 있었다. 사례관리자 측면에서는 학교사례관리자는 교육복지우선지원사업을 통해 학교사회복지사가 전담 배치되어 운영 중에 있으나, 병영 내 사례관리자는 지휘관에 의해 대부분 실시되고 있었다. 사회자원 측면에서는 지역사회와의 연계성 등 학교사례관리 보다 미비한 실정이며, 사례관리 실천방법에서는 학교 서비스 이용 자보다 복합적이고 장기적인 욕구와 문제를 가지고 있는 병영 내 장병의 특징을 고려하였을 때, 병영 내 환경에 맞는 사례관리 모델의 개발과 적용이 필요하겠다.
