The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of art therapy on the reduction of tactile defense in a child with autism spectrum disorder. The subject of this study was a 4-year-old boy diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, who had difficulty in processing senses in daily life, and had a total score of 141 points on the pre-shortened sensory profile test, indicating that the sensory response was significantly different from that of a normal child. This study performed 23 sessions of tactile stimulation art therapy once a week, 40 minutes each. To prove the effectiveness of this study, pre- and Post-Shortened Sensory Profiles (SSP) tests, participation and media contact were measured by the duration recording method. In addition, for qualitative analysis, photos and videos were taken for each session to record changes by session. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, it was found that there was a positive effect on participation rate and media contact through the tactile stimulation art therapy program. In the beginning, there was an imbalance between the participation rate and media contact, but in the middle, the researcher's behavior was imitated and the range of media contact was widened, and in the latter half, a graph was drawn in which tactile defense behavior decreased and participation and media contact similarly increased with increased, while playing with tactile media and self-expression increased. Second, it can be seen that it has a positive effect on the shortening sensory profile test of a child with autism spectrum disorder. The post-test showed that the sensory response was alleviated with 149 points, an increase of 8 points. Therefore, this study presented basic clinical data to reduce tactile defense in a child with autism spectrum disorder.

본 연구는 미술치료가 자폐스펙트럼장애 아동의 촉각 방어 감소에 미치는 영향을 알아 보는데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 자폐스펙트럼장애 진단을 받은 4세 남아로 일상생활에서 감각처리에 어려움을 갖고 있으며 사전 단축감각프로파일 검사에서 총점 141점으로 감각 반응이 정상 아동과 현저하게 다름으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 주 1회, 40분씩, 총 23회기 촉각 자극 미술치료를 진행하였다. 본 연구의 효과성을 입증하기 위해 사전, 사후 단축 감각프로파일(SSP) 검사와 참여도, 매체 접촉도를 지속시간 기록법으로 측정하였다. 또한 질적 분석을 위해 매 회기 사진과 비디오 촬영하여 회기별 변화를 기록하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째 촉각 자극 미술치료 프로그램을 통하여 참여율과 매 체 접촉도에 긍정적인 영향이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 초기에는 참여율과 매체 접촉도의 불균형이 보였지만 중기로 갈수록 연구자의 행동을 모방하며 매체의 접촉 범위를 넓혀 갔으며 후기에는 촉각 매체와 놀이하며 자기표현이 늘어남과 함께 촉각방어 행동이 줄고 참여도와 매체 접촉도가 비슷하게 상승하는 그래프가 그려졌다. 둘째, 자폐스펙트럼장애 아동의 단축감각 프로파일 검사에서 긍정적인 효과를 미치는 것을 알 수 있다. 사후 검사 에서 8점 상승한 149점으로 감각 반응이 완화되었음을 보여주고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 자폐스펙트럼장애 아동의 촉각 방어를 감소시키기 위한 임상적 기초 자료를 제시하였다.
