The purpose of this paper was to examine the perception of the world economy and economic democracy and the search for a Japanese economic methodology for participation in the international society and world economy, focusing on the essays of Japanese Marxist economists contributed to the comprehensive journal Sekai in 1946. The common perception of Marxist economists who presented essays in Sekai is that the Japanese economy is synonymous with the international economy and that Japan must be quickly returned to the international community in order to stabilize the world economy. And he had the perception that the transformed Japanese capitalist system must be normalized and internationalized for the stabilization and development of the Japanese economy. This is economic democracy as a methodology in which worker organizations take the lead, participate, and control and manage capital. The economic democracy they proposed as a methodology for deimperialization from economic imperialism is still effective today in seeking new alternatives to capitalism and democracy.

본고의 연구 목적은 종합지 1946년 『세카이(世界)』에 기고한 일본 마르크스주의 경제학자의 논고를 중심으로 세계경제와 경제민주주의에 대한 인식과 국제사회, 세계경제 참가를 위한 일본경제 방법론의 모색을 살펴보는 것이었다. 『세카이』에 논고를 제시한 마르크스주의 경제학자의 공통된 인식은 일본경제는 국제경제와 같은 의미이며 세계경제 안정화를 위해 일본을 국제사회로 조속히 복귀시켜야 한다는 것이다. 그리고 일본경제의 안정화와 발전을 위해 변용된 일본 자본주의 체제를 정상화, 국제화시켜야 한다는 인식을 갖고 있었다. 이는 노동자 조직이 주체가 되어 참가하고 자본을 통제, 관리해 나가는 방법론으로서의 경제민주주의이다. 이들이 경제제국주의로부터 탈제국화를 위한 방법론으로 제시한 경제민주주의는 현재도 새로운 대안으로서의 자본주의와 민주주의 길을 모색하는데 여전히 유효하다.
