This study investigates the effects of gender equality values, perceptions of gender equality, and gender cultural characteristics on adolescentsʼ marriage intentions in the Busan area. For this research purpose, we used data from a survey on youth sexual culture in Busan. We found that conservative values and misogynistic value perceptions, which are subfactors of gender equality values, appeared at levels below the median. Perceptions of gender equality were also reported at a level below the median. Among the sexual culture characteristics, most of the experience of requesting housework was found to have not been requested for less than one out of five items, and the frequency of sex-related conversations with friends was found to be lower than the median. More than half of the respondents had dating experience, and adolescentsʼ marriage intentions were slightly higher than the median. In addition, gender equality values, perceptions of gender equality, and gender cultural characteristics all had a significant effects on adolescentsʼ marriage intentions. Specifically, more conservative values corresponded to, lower perceptions of misogynistic values, and higher awareness of gender equality corresponded to, more experience with requesting housework. Furthermore, a higher frequency of sex-related conversations, and more adolescent dating experiences, corresponded to higher marriage intentions among adolescents. Based on these findings, we propose policy measures to improve adolescentsʼ marriage intentions.

본 연구는 부산지역 청소년을 대상으로 양성평등 가치관과 양성평등 인식, 성문화 특성이 결혼의향에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 연구목적을 달성하기를 위하여 부산지역 청소년 성문화 실태조사 자료를 이용하였다. 주요 연구결 과를 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청소년들의 양성평등 가치관은 보수적 가치관과 여성혐오적 가치관 인식으로 나타났으며, 둘다 보통보다 낮은 수준으로 나타났다. 양성평등 인식 역시 보통보다 낮은 수준으로 나타났다. 성문화 특성 중 가사노동 요청경험은 대부분 다섯가지 중 한 가지도 채 요청받지 않은 것으로 나타났으며, 친구와 성관련 대화 빈도는 보통 보다 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 연애경험은 절반이 조금 넘는 것으로 나타났다. 청소년의 결혼의향은 보통보다 조금 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 청소년의 결혼의향에 양성평등가치관, 양성평등 인식, 성문화 특성은 모두 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 구체적으로 보수적 가치관이 높을수록, 여성혐오적 가치관 인식이 낮을수록, 양성평등 인식이 높을수록, 가사노동 요청경험이 많을수록, 성관련 대화빈도가 많을수록, 연애 경험이 있는 경우 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 청소년의 결혼의향을 향상하기 위한 정책적 방안을 제시하였다
