정보통신기술의 발전으로 온라인 미디어를 통한 의사소통 플랫폼이 다양해지면서 문화예술산업의 진입과 방식의 방법도 점차 다양해지고 있다. 문화예술계는 창작 작품의 제작을 위한 재원조성의 다양한 방법들을 시도하고 있으나 대부분 순수예술과 순수예술교육 지원에 그쳐 대중음악의 재원조성은 미흡한 실정이다. 코로나 19 이후 비대면 사회가 가속화됨에 따라 온라인을 활용한 크라우드 펀딩의 재원조성은 창작자들과 후원자들에게 새로운 소통의 기회를 제공하며‘가치공유’를 형성하고 예술의 가치를 함께 이루어내고 있다. 그러나 예산 편성을 위한 재원조성보다는 소액의 홍보용 수단으로 쓰이고 있어 그 방식과 시스템이 구체적이지 못하다. 이에 본 연구는 대중음악의 창작을 위한 재원조성으로서의 크라우드 펀딩의 가능성을 살펴보고 활성화 방안 모색을 위해 타 예술 분야 중 연극과 뮤지컬 분야의 크라우드 펀딩의 사례를 살펴보고, 실용음악을 전공하는 학생들에게 설문 조사와 대중음악 현장에서 10년 이상 창작 및 교육 활동을 한 전문가들의 심층 인터뷰 설문 조사를 2023년 05월 30일부터 06월 10일까지 인식 조사 내용으로 구성하여 진행하였다. 그 결과 다음과 같은 시사점을 확인할 수 있었다. 첫째, 재원조성을 위한 다양한 방식과 제도가 필요하며, 크라우드 펀딩의 활용을 위한 제도적 마련과 시스템 구축이 필요하다. 둘째, 크라우드 펀딩의 성공과 음악 제작에는 밀접한 상관관계가 있음을 인정하고 인식 개선과 홍보를 통해 적극적인 활용 방안의 모색이 필요하다. 셋째, 여러 장르의 음악을 대중과 소통하기 위하여 재원조성의 목적과 계획을 명확히 하고 그에 따른 전략 개발과 크라우드 펀딩의 유형에 따른 다양한 보상방식을 구체화해야 한다. 이를 위해 대중음악 창작자들은 크라우드 펀딩의 성공과 음악 제작의 밀접한 상관관계에 있다는 인식을 인지하고 다양한 활용 방안이 모색될 수 있도록 지속적인 연구와 시도가 필요하다. 이러한 노력으로 대중음악에서 크라우드 펀딩의 적극적인 활성화를 기대한다.
