Bukwon-suhoecheop(北園壽會帖) is a poetry album that is said to have been created to commemorate the meeting held at Jang-dong(壯洞) Bukwon(北園) in Seoul in celebration of Park Tae-su(朴台壽)’s 60th birthday in 1569, and it became known to the public in earnest when it was published in stone engraving by Sinhae-eumsa(辛亥唫社) in 1913. This is a material that vividly shows an aspect of a banquet held on a grand scale in the late 16th century. It has recently received special attention as it is a poetry album in which the names of many famous figures of the time, such as Lee Hwang(李滉), Jo sik(曺植), Jung Yu-gil(鄭惟吉), Ki Dae-seung(奇大升) and Lee Yi(李珥) are appear. However, as a result of the review of this thesis, it was revealed that Bukwon-suhoecheop is a ‘forgery’ created by plagiarizing and reprinting the material of the same name, Bukwon-suhoecheop, compiled in the 18th century, and various works from the late Joseon Dynasty. Basically, not only are most of the congratulatory poems included in the material plagiarisms from works based on the 18th century’s Bukwon-suhoecheop, but there are also quite a few doubtful points about the actual formation of the banquet itself. This fact suggests that it is necessary to maintain a more careful attitude when dealing with materials produced in the modern period.
