The US and China’s decoupling is one of the phenomena that best shows the trend of the US-China strategic competition and de-globalization. This study analyzes the possibility that the intensification and spread of the US and China’s decoupling in the high-tech sector can bifurcate the world in the long term from the perspective of competition for technological hegemony between the US and China. The issues of US-China competition for technological hegemony are the 4th industrial revolution technologies that will influence the future economy, and thus can affect not only the economy and technology, but also the military and security, and even the competition over ideology and values. From this point of view, this study examines the possibility that technological decoupling can promote de-globalization and create a bifurcated world, and draw out implications of the principle of mutual existence toward a sustainable future economy in terms of seeking alternatives.

미·중 디커플링은 미·중 전략경쟁과 탈세계화의 흐름을 가장 잘 보여주는 현상 중의 하나이다. 이 연구는 첨단기술 부문에서의 미·중간 디커플링의 심화, 확산이 장기적으로 세계를 양분화할 수 있는 가능성을 미· 중 기술패권 경쟁의 시각에서 분석한다. 미·중 기술패권 경쟁 이슈는 미래 경제를 좌우할 4차 산업혁명 기술 을 둘러싼 경쟁으로 경제·기술 영역뿐만 아니라 군사·안보, 나아가 이념·가치를 둘러싼 경쟁에까지 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 이러한 관점에서 이 연구는 기술 디커플링이 탈세계화를 촉진하고 나아가 양분화된 세계를 만 들 수 있는 가능성을 검토하고, 그에 대한 대안 모색 차원에서 지속 가능한 미래 경제를 향한 공생주의적 함 의를 도출한다.
