The purpose of this study is to develop a career exploration program for third-country-born children of North Korean defectors and to determine its effects on their career decision-making self-efficacy and career decision-making level. Accordingly, the career exploration program in this study was developed through four stages: planning, organization, implementation, and evaluation for seven sessions. For the objective effectiveness evaluation before and after the program, the experimental group, 10 students enrolled in the alternative school for North Korean refugee youth in S city, who participated in the program for 50 minutes once a week, and the control group, 9 students from the same school who did not participate in the program, were selected. Then, for the quantitative analysis, the results of the career decision self-efficacy and career decision-making level tests administered before and after the program were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 program. First, the Mann-whitney method was used for quantitative analysis to verify pre-homogeneity between groups, and the Wilcoxon Matched Pairs Signed Rank Test was used to compare pre- and post-tests by group. Next, the subjective effectiveness evaluation was implemented by the post-program satisfaction evaluation, review statements by session, and semi-structured open-ended interviews. The results of the quantitative analysis showed that only the experimental group showed significant improvements in career decision-making self-efficacy as a whole and some of its sub-factors. Next, the mean scores of the experimental group increased in some subfactors, although not statistically significant for the level of career decision-making. On the other hand, the qualitative analysis revealed that the experiences of the program's effectiveness and career-related constructs were derived to four domains and seven central concepts. Thus, the career exploration program for third-country-born children of North Korean defectors developed in this study is significant in that it used Chinese translation and interpretation in consideration of language and cultural barriers, utilized various career mentoring, and proved its effectiveness in a mixed-methods study despite most of the sessions were conducted non-face-to-face during the coronavirus situation. Finally, the limitations and suggestions for further studies were discussed by synthesizing the relevant findings.

본 연구는 제3국 출생 북한이탈주민 자녀 대상 진로탐색 프로그램을 개발하고 그것이 해당 대상의 진로결정 자기효능감과 진로의사결정수준에 미치는 영향을 파악하는 데 목적이 있다. 이에 따른 본 연 구의 진로탐색 프로그램은 기획, 구성, 실시, 평가의 4단계를 거쳐 총 7회기로 개발되었다. 프로그램 전 후 객관적 효과평가로는 주 1회 50분씩 프로그램에 참여한 실험집단인 S시 소재 N 북한이탈청소년 대 안학교 재학생 10명과 프로그램에 참여하지 않은 동일학교 재학생 9명으로 이루어진 통제집단으로 할 당하였다. 그런 다음, 양적 분석을 위하여 프로그램 사전·사후에 시행한 진로결정자기효능감과 진로의 사결정수준 검사 결과를 SPSS 25.0 프로그램을 활용하여 분석하였다. 먼저, 집단 간 사전 동질성 검증 을 위해 양적 분석으로는 Mann-whitney 방법을, 집단별 사전-사후 검사 비교를 위해 Wilcoxon Matched Pairs Signed Rank Test를 시행하였다. 다음으로, 주관적 효과평가로는 프로그램 사후 만족도 평가, 회 기별 소감문, 반구조화된 개방형 면접을 진행하였다. 연구 결과, 양적 분석 결과로 진로결정자기효능감 전체와 일부 하위요인에 있어 실험집단에서만 유의한 향상이 나타났다. 다음으로, 진로의사결정수준에 대하여는 통계적으로 유의하지는 않으나 일부 하위요인에서 실험집단의 평균이 상승한 것으로 나타났 다. 한편, 질적 분석 결과로는 본 프로그램의 효과성 및 진로 관련 구성개념에 대한 경험들이 4개의 영 역과 7개의 중심개념으로 도출되었다. 이렇듯 본 연구에서 개발한 제3국 출생 북한이탈주민 자녀 대상 진로탐색 프로그램은 언어 및 문화 장벽을 고려하여 중국어 번역과 통역을 병행한 점, 다양한 진로멘토 링을 활용한 점, 그리고 코로나 상황에서 대부분의 회기를 비대면으로 진행하였음에도 혼합연구로 그 효과를 입증하였다는 점에서 그 의의가 있다. 끝으로, 관련 결과들을 종합하여 후속 연구를 위한 제언 및 제한점을 논의하였다.
