The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship among mothers' parenting stress, parent exhaustion, and parenting efficacy among 244 mothers with children aged 3 to 5 among parents of early childhood education institutions located in Busan Metropolitan City, and to examine the mediating role of mothers' parenting stress on parent exhaustion through parenting efficacy. In order to achieve this purpose, Person product-moment correlation was conducted using SPSS 23 program, and PROCESS Macro Model 4 developed by Hayes(2013) was conducted to verify the mediating effect of parenting efficacy. As a result of analyzing the data, first, parenting stress had a significant positive correlation with parenting exhaustion, but a significant negative correlation with parenting efficacy, and parenting exhaustion and parenting efficacy had a significant negative correlation. Second, mothers' parenting efficacy had a partial mediating effect on the path of parenting stress to parenting exhaustion practice. This implies that parenting stress can not be avoided while raising children, but various programs should be prepared to prevent parent exhaustion by raising parenting efficacy so as not to accumulate and become chronic. Suggestions based on the results of this study are as follows. First, since there is a difference in parenting stress in the process of role performance as well as parental role in infancy and early childhood, follow-up studies should develop parent education programs suitable for the growth period of children after analyzing the difference between infancy and early childhood. Second, since mothers' parenting efficacy has an important effect on parenting exhaustion, analyzing the research trends on how parenting efficacy is currently being studied will provide an academic basis for the development of parent education programs to improve parenting efficacy in the future.

본 연구는 부산광역시에 소재한 유아교육기관 학부모 중 만3세~만5세 유아 자녀를 둔 어머니 244명을 대상으로 어머니의 양육스트레스, 부모소진, 양육효능감 간의 관계 를 분석하고, 어머니의 양육스트레스가 양육효능감을 통하여 부모소진에 매개적 역할 을 하는지를 알아보는데 그 목적이 있었다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 SPSS23프로그 램을 사용하여 Person 적률상관관계분석을 실시하였으며, 양육효능감의 매개효과를 검 증하기 위하여 Hayes(2013)가 개발한 PROCESS Macro Model 4를 실시하였다. 자료를 분석한 결과 첫째, 양육스트레스는 부모소진과는 유의미한 정적상관이 있는 것으로 나타났으나 양육효능감 와는 유의미한 부적상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 부모소진과 양육효능감은 유의미한 부적상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 부모소진을 예 방하기 위해서는 어머니의 양육효능감을 향상시켜야 된다는 것을 시사한다. 둘째, 어머 니의 양육효능감은 양육스트레스가 부모소진 실행으로 가는 경로에서 부분매개효과를 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 자녀를 키우면서 양육스트레스를 받지 않을 수는 없다. 그러 나 누적되고 만성화되지 않도록 양육효능감을 높여 부모가 소진에 이르는 것을 예방할 수 있는 다양한 프로그램이 마련되어야 함을 시사한다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 제언을 하면 첫째, 영아기와 유아기는 부모역할뿐만 아니 라 역할 수행과정에서 나타나는 양육스트레스도 차이가 있기 때문에 후속 연구에서는 영아기와 유아기를 분리하여 차이를 분석한 후 자녀의 성장 시기에 맞는 부모교육 프로그램이 개발되어야 할 것이다. 둘째, 어머니의 양육효능감은 부모소진에 중요한 영향을 미치기 때문에 양육효능감 에 대한 연구가 현재 어떻게 이루어지고 있는지에 대한 연구동향을 분석해 본다면 앞으 로 양육효능감 향상을 위한 부모교육프로그램 개발에 학문적 기초를 제공해 줄 수 있을 것이다.
