Yan Lianker's novel Dream of Ding's Village(丁莊夢) deals with human greed, the fall of the village, and the desire of the state against the backdrop of a village infected with AIDS in the early 1990s. The AIDS infection in the novel is not a central narrative. The central narrative of the novel appears through Ding Shuiyang's dream, and at the center of the narrative is Ding Hui, a symbol of greed. This article begins with exploring Ding Shuiyang's 'dream'. It can be said that searching for 'dream' in Ding's Village Dream is to examine Ding Hui's greed and the fall of the village. First, through Ding Shuiyang's dream, greed and fall were analyzed. Ding Shuiyang's dreams are the driving force of the narrative and describe events and characters using literary techniques such as symbols and metaphors. In particular, the mythical device that appears in dreams, that is, Genesis, was analyzed to examine the greed and fall of the villagers. Second, it is Ding Hui that dominates the space of greed in the novel. Ding Hui evolves into great greed protected by power. The symbiotic relationship between Ding Hui and Gao was examined. And among these, Ding Shuiyang and Ma Xianglin, who tried to protect human nature and protect traditional values, were analyzed. In addition, through Ding liang and Lingling, pure and essential love that was not contaminated in an era when human value was lost was analyzed. It was confirmed that Ding's Village Dream was a reflection on human nature and greed, as well as a criticism of the government's desire.

옌롄커(閻連科)의 소설 『딩씨 마을의 꿈(丁莊夢)』은 1990년대 초 열병(에이즈)에 집단 감염된 河南省의 어느 마을을 배경으로 인간의 탐욕과 마을의 몰락, 그리고 국가의 욕 망을 다루고 있다. 소설에서 나타나는 열병의 감염은 발단으로 제시될 뿐 중심 서사는 아 니다. 소설의 중심 서사는 딩수이양의 꿈을 통해서 나타나며, 그 서사의 중심에는 탐욕의 상징인 딩후이가 있다. 이 글은 딩수이양의 ‘꿈’을 탐색하는 것에서 시작된다. 『딩씨 마을의 꿈』에서 ‘꿈’을 탐색하는 것은 딩후이의 탐욕과 마을의 몰락을 고찰하는 것이라고 할 수 있다. 첫째, 딩수이양의 꿈을 통하여 은유되는 탐욕과 몰락에 대하여 분석하였다. 딩수이양 의 꿈은 서사의 동력이면서 사건과 인물에 대하여 상징과 은유 등의 문학적 기법을 동원 하여 서술하고 있다. 그리고 딩수이양의 꿈에 관한 서술이 아닌, 딩씨 마을의 현실 세계에서 서술되는 부분들은 문학적 기법으로 제시된 사건과 인물 등의 이야기를 풀어서 서 술하거나 혹은 딩후이가 주도한 사건을 중심으로 주변 인물들의 반응에 관한 이야기임 을 알 수 있었다. 특히 꿈에서 나타나는 신화적 장치, 즉 창세기와 여와를 분석하여 마을 사람들의 탐욕과 몰락을 고찰하였다. 둘째, 소설에서 탐욕의 공간을 지배하는 것은 딩후이이다. 딩후이는 권력의 비호를 받는 거대한 탐욕으로 진화한다. 딩후이와 가오국장의 결탁은 쥐깨풀을 통하여 이어지는 것을 고찰하였다. 그리고 이러한 가운데에서도 인간의 본성을 지키며 전통적 가치를 지 키려는 딩수이양과 마샹린을 분석하였다. 또한, 딩량과 링링을 통하여 인간의 가치가 상실된 시대에 오염되지 않은 순수하고 본질적인 사랑에 대하여 분석하였다. 『딩씨 마을의 꿈』은 인간 본성과 탐욕에 대한 성찰임과 동시에 국가 욕망에 대한 비판임을 확인할 수 있었다.
