The design of a vibrant urban environment is essential for living, working, and enjoying leisure time in a city. This requires comprehensive measures summarized under the terms of urban development and urban planning. While the quality of life in urban areas is subjective, it is the goal of cities to create optimal living conditions for their residents. Therefore, the further development and redesign of cities play a central role in sustainable urban development policy. It has been demonstrated that urban renewal and development measures are generally effective, but analyses of implementation, procedures, and impacts have also highlighted criticisms. The aim of this study is to examine whether the so-called "cultural urban renewal" is capable of enhancing the aesthetic values of a city, strengthening social cohesion, and simultaneously promoting economic development. To this end, case studies of the city of Sejong and examples from Germany are compared and analyzed.

Die Gestaltung eines lebendigen städtischen Umfelds ist unerlässlich für das Leben, Arbeiten und den Genuss der Freizeit in einer Stadt. Dies erfordert umfassende Maßnahmen, die unter den Begriffen der Stadtentwicklung und der Stadtplanung zusammengefasst werden. Es wurde gezeigt, dass Stadterneuerungs- und Stadtentwicklungsmaßnahmen im Allgemeinen effektiv sind, jedoch haben Analysen zur Umsetzung, den Verfahren und den Auswirkungen auch Kritikpunkte aufgezeigt. Das Ziel dieser Untersuchung besteht darin zu prüfen, ob die sogenannte kulturelle Stadterneuerung dazu in der Lage ist, die ästhetischen Werte einer Stadt zu steigern, das soziale Zusammengehörigkeitsgefühl zu stärken und gleichzeitig die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung zu fördern.

도시환경의 생동감 있는 구축은 도시에서의 생활과 일 그리고 여가를 위한 필수 요소이 다. 이를 위해서는 도시개발과 도시계획이라고 불려지는 종합적인 조치가 필요하다. 도시의 삶의 질은 주관적이지만, 도시는 거주자들에게 최적의 생활 환경을 조성하는 것이 목표이다. 이에 따라 도시의 발전과 재구축은 지속 가능한 도시개발 정책에서 중요한 역할을 한다. 도시재생 및 도시개발 조치가 일반적으로 효과적임이 입증되었지만, 실행이나 절차 및 영향에 대한 분석에서 비판점이 나타났다. 본 연구의 목표는 문화적 도시재생이 도시의 미적 가치를 높이고 사회적 연대감을 강화하며 동시에 경제 발전을 촉진할 수 있는지 여부를 검토하는 것이다. 이를 위해 세종시의 사례 연구와 독일의 사례를 비교하고 분석한다.
