The purpose of this study is to examine the mediating effect of university belongingness in the relationship between internal and extrinsic motivation for entering graduate school and educational satisfaction of graduate student. To this end, a total of 305 copies were collected by conducting a survey among graduate students nationwide, and the final 291 copies were used for analysis, excluding missing values and insincere responses. The collected data were used to examine the relationship between variables using the SPSS 27 statistical analysis program, followed by Pearson's correlation analysis, followed by Baron & Kenny's hierarchical regression analysis to verify the mediating effect. The results of this study showed that first, graduate student' motivation for entering graduate school, university belongingness, and educational satisfaction were all statically correlated. Second, It has been shown that intrinsic motivation for entering graduate school is partly mediated by university belongingness, which affects educational satisfaction. Third, It has been shown that the external motivation for entering graduate school is completely mediated by university belongingness, which affects educational satisfaction. The results of this study indicate that motivation for entering graduate school and university belongingness act as significant variables in graduate school educational satisfaction, suggesting that it is necessary to provide curricula and programs that can enhance university belongingness while satisfying the various motivations of graduate student in order to increase graduate school educational satisfaction. Based on the understanding of the effect of graduate student' motivation for entering graduate school on educational satisfaction through university belongingness, this study can be used as basic data for universities to establish a curriculum to cultivate master's and doctoral manpower with knowledge and competencies in the future.

본 연구의 목적은 대학원생의 대학원 진학 내적동기, 외적동기와 교육만족도의 관계에서 대학소속감의 매개효과를 살펴보는 데 있다. 이를 위해 전국 대학원 재학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 총 305부를 회수하였고, 결측치와 불성실한 응답을 제외하고 최종 291부를 분석에 사용하였다. 수집한 자료는 SPSS 27 통계분석 프로그램을 사용하여 변인 간의 관계를 파악하기 위해 Pearson의 상관분석을 실시한 후 Baron & Kenny의 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하여 매개효과를 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 첫째, 대학원생의 대학원 진학동기, 대학소속감, 교육만족도는 모두 정적인 상관관계 가 나타났다. 둘째, 대학원 진학 내적동기는 대학소속감에 의해 부분 매개되어 교육만족도에 영향 을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 대학원 진학 외적동기는 대학소속감이 의해 완전 매개되어 교육 만족도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 대학원 교육만족도에 대학원 진학동 기와 대학소속감이 유의한 변인으로 작용한다는 것을 나타내며, 대학원 교육만족도를 높이기 위해 대학원생의 다양한 진학동기를 충족하면서 대학소속감을 증진시킬 수 있는 교육과정과 프로그램들 을 제공할 필요가 있다는 점을 시사한다. 본 연구는 대학원생의 대학원 진학동기가 대학소속감을 통해 교육만족도에 미치는 영향에 대한 이해를 바탕으로, 향후 대학이 지식과 역량을 갖춘 석 ·박사 인력을 양성하기 위한 교육과정을 수립하는 데 기초자료로써 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
