The purpose of this article is to analyze the current accompaniment music of 《Baraseungmu》 and examine the characteristics of 《Baraseungmu》 accompaniment music. The research method was analyzed focusing on the melody and rhythm of the Bara dance accompaniment music, which is the core part that best reveals the characteristics of the Bara dance. The research results are as follows. First, it was revealed that the accompaniment to 《Baraseungmu》 is not but . Second, it was revealed that the melody of Barachum in 《Baraseungmu》 is not the melody of but the melody of . Since is a Taepyeong song used in the Buddhist ritual Barachum, it was stated in the thesis that historical probability was secured in the formation process of the Barachum of 《Baraseungmu》. Third, it was revealed that the melody of Barachum in 《Baraseungmu》 is not but . The melody of is similar to the flute melody of 《Daepungnyu Dance Song》 and has the characteristic of being played with Taepyeongso. It was demonstrated that the melody of sung by Ji Young-hee, who was in charge of Jang Hong-sim’s dance accompaniment, and his disciple Choi Gyeong-man was valid as an accompaniment to the bara dance of 《Baraseungmu》.

이 글에서는 현행 《바라승무》의 반주음악을 분석하여 《바라승무》 반주음악의 특징을 고찰하는 데 목적을 두었다. 연구 방법은 바라승무 특징을 가장 잘 드러내는 핵심적인 부분인 바라춤 반 주음악의 선율과 장단을 중심으로 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 《바라승무》 반주 곡은 <자진허튼타령>이 아니라 <중허튼타령>이라는 점을 밝혔다. 둘째, 《바라승무》 중 바라춤 의 선율이 <능게> 가락이 아니라 <천수바라> 가락임을 밝혔다. <천수바라>는 불교의식 바라춤 에서 활용하는 태평소곡이기에, 《바라승무》 바라춤의 형성과정에서 역사적 개연성이 확보된다 는 점을 논지에 밝혔다. 셋째, 《바라승무》 중 바라춤의 선율이 <능게 굿거리>가 아니라 <태평소 굿거리>임을 밝혔다. <태평소 굿거리> 가락은 《대풍류무용곡》의 피리선율과 유사한 가락으로 피리가락을 태평소로 불었다는 특징이 있다. 장홍심의 춤 반주를 맡았던 지영희와 그의 제자 최 경만이 구사하는 <태평소 굿거리> 가락이 《바라승무》 바라춤 반주곡으로 타당성이 있음을 피력하였다.
