The purpose of this study is to examine the structural relationship between Cultural competency, Self-leadership, Self-concept, and Adaptation to college life of college students. Furthermore, we sought to determine whether Self-leadership and Self-concept play a mediating role in the relationship between college students’ Cultural competency and Adaptation to college life. For this purpose, survey data from 318 students at S-University located in 00, Jeollanam-do were used for analysis. The collected data were subjected to descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and path analysis using SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 25.0 programs, and the mediating effect was verified. First, the results of the study showed that college students’ Cultural competency influenced the mediating variables, Self-leadership and Self-concept, and in this case, Self-leadership and Self-concept were found to fully mediate. Second, rather than the Cultural competency of college students having a direct effect on their Adaptation to college life, the double mediating effect of Self-leadership and Self-concept was found to be greater. These results suggest that in order for college students to successfully Adaptation to college life, they need to improve their Cultural competency and increase the level of Self-leadership and Self-concept.

이 연구는 대학생의 문화적 역량, 셀프리더십, 자아개념 및 대학생활적응의 구조적 관계를 살펴보고, 대학생의 문화적 역량과 대학생활적응의 관계에서 셀프리더십과 자 아개념의 매개 역할을 살펴보는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 전남 oo시에 소재한 S대학 학생 318명의 설문자료가 분석에 사용되었다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 25.0와 AMOS 25.0 프로그램을 활용해 기술통계, 상관분석, 경로분석을 한 후에 매개효과를 검증하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 대학생의 문화적 역량이 매개변인인 셀프리더십과 자아개념에 영향 을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 이때 셀프리더십과 자아개념은 완전매개하는 것으로 나 타났다. 둘째, 대학생의 문화적 역량이 대학생활적응에 직접 영향을 미치기보다는 셀 프리더십과 자아개념의 이중매개효과가 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 대학생 이 대학생활적응을 성공적으로 해 나가기 위해서 문화적 역량을 향상하여 셀프리더십 과 자아개념의 수준을 높여야 할 필요가 있다는 사실을 시사한다.
