The purpose of this study is a self-narrative of Korea's national palace culture, which researchers experience as they gradually learn the national archery from the introductory process of traditional archery in Korea. Through this study, first, the Korean national palace competition was held in 16 cities and counties across the country, and the 5th to 9th stages were held in national competitions organized by the Korea Palace Association, and "Gungdae" and "Danjeung" were issued to the people who passed the first to 9th stages, respectively. Second, in the case of the national competition's team competition, the tournament competition was held until the final after selecting the round of 16 through the preliminary round, and the team that beat the losing team had a culture of buying drinks as a way of consolation. Third, there was no cost to participate in the competition in Gangwon-do, and the national palace competition was more of a festival than a competition of skills, such as providing free lunch and iron plate pork belly.

본 연구의 목적은 연구자가 우리나라 전통 활쏘기 입문 과정에서부터 국궁(활쏘기)를 점차 배워나가면서 경험하게 되는 우리나라의 국궁 문화 에 관한 자기 이야기(Self-narrative) 기술이며, 이를 통해 우리나라만이 가진 고유의 국궁 문화(강원도 지역으로 한정)에 대해서 알아보는 것에 있다. 본 연구를 통해 우리나라 국궁은 첫째, 입승단 대회는 전국 16개 시군에서 1단에서 4단까지는 자체적으로, 5단부터 9단까지는 대한궁도협 회에서 주관하는 전국대회에서 진행하며, 각각 1단부터 9단까지 통과된 인원에게 궁대와 단증을 발급하고 있었다. 둘째, 전국대회의 단체전에 경우 예선전을 통하여 16강을 선발한 이후 결승까지 토너먼트 경기를 진행하는데 이때 진 팀을 이긴 팀은 위로의 의미로 음료수를 사주는 문 화가 있었다. 셋째, 강원도 도내대회에서는 대회 참가 비용이 없었고, 점 심과 철판 삼겹살을 무료로 제공하는 등 국궁대회가 단순히 실력을 겨 루는 대회라기보다는 축제의 형태를 띠고 있었다.
