Digital sex crimes are raising greater awareness in our society since incidents of production, distribution, coercion, and threats of sexual exploitation occurred in cyber environments such as Nth Room and Doctor's Room. In this study, I sought to examine the current status of digital sex crimes using deepfake technology, which has recently become a serious social problem, and to suggest efficient response measures. Looking at the recent status of digital sex crimes using deepfake technology, it was found that there were 9,006 cases of false sexual videos using deepfake technology that were requested for review by the Korea Communications Standards Commission from June 2020 to August 2023. The number of cases in which deletion was taken was 410, accounting for only 4.5% of the total number of correction requests. Looking at major cases of digital sex crimes using deepfake technology, there was a lot of production of false pornography videos targeting celebrities in the past, but recently, in the so-called 'sexual insults to acquaintances', photos or videos of close acquaintances were used, including other people's naked bodies or sexual intercourse photos. It is aimed at the general public by combining it with video, producing and distributing it. Finally, measures to respond to digital sex crimes using deepfake technology include strengthening professional investigative personnel, strengthening the undercover investigation system, strengthening prevention education and promotion, restricting the use of digital devices, strengthening victim support, and strengthening international cooperation.

디지털 성범죄는 n번방과 박사방 등 사이버 환경에서 발생하는 성착취물의 제작‧유포‧강요‧협박 사건 이래 우리사회에서 더 큰 경각심을 불러일으키고 있다. 이 연구에서는 최근 심각한 사회문제가 되고 있는 딥페이크 기술을 활용한 디지털 성범죄의 현재 실태를 고찰하고 그에 대한 효율적 대응 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 딥페이크 기술을 활용한 디지털 성범죄의 최근 실태를 살펴보면 2020년 6월부터 2023년 8월까지 방송통신심의위원회에 심의 요청된 딥페이크 기술을 활용한 성적 허위영상물이 9,006건에 달하는 것 으로 나타났으나, 삭제 조치까지 이루어진 경우는 410건으로 전체 시정 요청건수의 단지 4.5%에 그 쳤다. 딥페이크 기술을 활용한 디지털 성범죄의 주요 사례를 살펴보면 기존에는 연예인을 대상으로 한 허위영상물의 제작이 많았으나 최근에는 소위 ‘지인능욕’ 같이 가까운 지인의 사진이나 영상을 다른 사람의 나체나 성관계 사진 및 영상과 합성하여 제작 및 유포하는 등 일반인을 대상으로 하는 쪽으 로 이루어지고 있다. 마지막으로 딥페이크 기술을 활용한 디지털 성범죄의 대응방안으로는 전문 수사 인력 및 지원 보 강, 위장수사 제도 강화, 예방 교육 및 홍보 강화, 디지털 기기 사용 제한, 피해자 지원 강화, 국제 공조 강화를 제시하였다.
