Ecological theology emerged as a reflection on the environmental crisis caused by climate change. And all of humanity, regardless of religion, race, and nation, is now taking steps to overcome the environmental crisis. In this situation, the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification also needs to join in overcoming the global environmental crisis. Accordingly, this study sought to explore the development direction of FFWPU’s ecological discourse from the perspective of Unification Thought. As a result, it was confirmed that the ecological discourse of FFWPU provides important clues to create environmental peace, like the efforts of environmentalists and ecological theology that Christianity has developed. Nevertheless, the FFWPU’s discussion on ecological discourse was not active compared to Christianity, and its practice was not developed. Therefore, three aspects were discussed and proposed for the spread and development of FFWPU’s ecological discourse. First, the need for ‘activating campaigns’ based on FFWPU’s ecological ideology, and second, it is an expression of FFWPU’s position on ecological issues. And thirdly, the activation of solidarity activities with other religions, especially FBOs.

생태신학은 기후변화에 따른 환경의 위기에 대한 반성으로 등장하였고, 종교와 인종, 국가를 초월하여 전 인류는 이제 환경위기 극복을 위해 발벗고 나서고 있는 상황이다. 이러한 상황에서 세계평화통일가정연합(이하 가정연합) 또한 지구환경 위 기 극복을 위해 동참할 필요가 있다. 이에 본 연구는 통일사상적 관점으로 가정연합의 생태담론의 발전적 방향을 모 색하고자 하였다. 그 결과 가정연합이 가진 생태담론은 기독교가 발전시켜온 생태신 학과 환경론자들의 노력처럼 환경평화를 조성할 수 있는 중요한 단서를 제공하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 그럼에도 불구하고 가정연합의 생태담론에 대한 논의는 기독교에 비해 활성화되지 못하고 있었고, 그에 대한 실천 또한 발전하지 못하고 있 었다. 이에 가정연합의 생태담론의 확산과 발전을 위해서 세 가지 측면에서 논의하고 제안하였다. 가정연합의 생태사상에 기초한 ‘운동화’의 필요성과 생태 이슈에 대한 가정연합의 입장정리와 표명, 그리고 타 종교(FBO)와의 연대활동 활성화 등이 그것이다.
