The purpose of this study is to empirically verify how the preservation and utilization of cultural heritage affects the desire to enjoy cultural heritage of local residents. A structural model was established between preservation of cultural heritage, utilization of cultural heritage, interest in cultural heritage, and willingness to participate in cultural heritage, and a survey was conducted targeting 450 residents living in the vicinity of cultural heritage. As a result of the analysis, interest in cultural heritage was found to have a direct effect (+) on the willingness to participate in cultural heritage, and preservation and utilization of cultural heritage were found to have an indirect effect (+) on the willingness to participate in cultural heritage. Therefore, it can be seen that the awareness of preservation and utilization of cultural heritage of residents makes them interested in cultural heritage, and this interest leads to their willingness to participate in cultural heritage. Based on these results, this study presents policy implications, focusing on strategies for preserving and utilizing regional cultural heritage, increasing interest in cultural heritage, and increasing willingness to participate in cultural heritage.

본 논문의 목적은 문화유산 보존과 활용이 지역주민의 문화유산 향유 욕구에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 실증적으로 검증하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 문화유산 보존, 문화유산 활용, 문화유산 관심, 문화유산 참여의향 간 구조모형을 설정하고, 문화유산 인근 거주민 450명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시했다. 분석 결과, 종속변수인 문화유산 참여의향에 대해 문화유산 관심은 직접적인 영향(+)을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 문화유산 보존 및 문화유산 활용은 간접적 영향(+)을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 주민의 문화유산 보존 및 활용에 대한 인식이 문화유산에 관심을 갖게 하고, 이 관심이 문화유산 참여의향으로 이어진다고 볼 수 있다. 이 결과를 통해 본 연구에서는 문화유산 참여의향을 높이기 위한 문화유산 관심 제고 방안과 지역의 문화유산 보존 및 활용을 위한 전략 방안을 중심으로 정책적 시사점을 제시하였다.
