In this paper, we reviewed records in Sinographic Literatures related to the traditional Korean instrument, the Dae-geum(大笒), with the aim of laying the groundwork for constructing and utilizing it as Cultural Contents. Specifically, the objective was to examine what records exist in Sinographic Literatures regarding the Dae-geum, and to explore the distinctive contents that can be found in these records. The reason for choosing the Dae-geum as the subject of our research among our traditional musical instruments is as follows. The Dae-geum is an instrument that adds familiarity and mystery to our nation, as it is widely associated with the well-known folk tale of ‘Man-pa-sik-juk(萬波息笛)’. It shares commonalities with Chinese flutes(笛子) while also possessing distinctive features, effectively embodying both the universality of East Asia and the uniqueness of our nation. Moreover, we considered it suitable as a subject for cultural content based on classical Korean themes. In Chapter II, we examined the terminology used to refer to the daegeum, such as ‘Jeot-dae(젓대)’, ‘Hoeng-jeok(橫笛)’, and ‘Dae-geum(大笒)’. In Chapter III, we explored the imagery symbolized by the Dae-geum through an analysis of records related to ‘Man-pa-sik-juk(萬波息笛)’ and a study of piece titles like ‘Man-pa-jung-sik-ji-gok(萬波停息之曲)’, ‘Pyo-jeong-man-bang-ji-gok(表正萬方之曲)’, and ‘Yo-cheon-sun-il-ji-gok(堯天舜日之曲)’. In Chapter IV, we inferred that in Sinographic Literatures, ‘Dae-geum(大笒)’ is used as a formal expression, while ‘Hoeng-jeok(橫笛)’ is employed as a more common and literary expression, based on their appearances in documents with different characteristics.

본 논문에서는 우리 전통 악기 중 大笒을 주제로 삼아 이를 문화콘텐츠(Culture Contents)로 구성하고 활용하기 위한 기초작업으로 이와 관련된 한문 문헌의 기록을 검토해 보았다. 즉 대금과 관련하여 한문 문헌에 어떠한 기록들이 있는지, 또 그 기록에서 찾을 수 있는 특징적인 내용은 무엇인지에 대해 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한 것이다. 우리의 전통 악기 중에서 何必 대금을 연구 대상으로 선택한 이유는 다음과 같다. 대금은 널리 알려진 萬波息笛 설화와 관련이 있는 등 우리 민족에게 친근함과 신비함을 더해 주는 악기이며, 중국의 笛子와 공통점도 있고 차별성도 있는 등 동아시아의 보편성과 우리 민족의 특수성을 동시에 잘 드러내는 악기이기 때문에, 고전 속 한류 기반 문화콘텐츠의 소재로 삼기에 적합하다고 생각했기 때문이다. 본론 Ⅱ장에서는 젓대, 橫笛, 大笒 등 대금을 칭하는 명칭에 대해 검토해 보았으며, Ⅲ장에서는 萬波息笛 관련 기록 및 萬波停息之曲, 表正萬方之曲, 堯天舜日之曲 등 곡명에 대한 고찰을 통해 대금의 상징 및 대금의 이미지에 대해 살펴보았고, Ⅳ장에서는 한문 문헌에서 ‘大笒’과 ‘橫笛’이 각기 다른 성격의 문헌에 쓰인다는 것을 확인하면서 ‘大笒’은 공식적인 표현이고 ‘橫笛’은 통상적이고 문학적인 표현이라는 점을 추정해 보았다.
