This article examines the ‘death consciousness’ shown in Wing Phantom Pain, one of Kim Hye-sun’s death trilogy in which death forms the dominant discourse, and analyzes how it is related to the main poetic words ’bird’, ‘bird-hada’ and ‘phantom pain’, causing part-of-speech changes. The death consciousness in Kim Hye-soon’s poetry is flexibly reconstructed through various variations each time and contributes to the formation of the meaning of major poetic words. At this time, the usage of parts of speech also undergoes a radical change, so Kim Hye-sun’s poetry should focus on the way the object operates in the poet’s poetic space rather than focusing on the identity of the object. In Chapter 2, we examine the relationship between death consciousness, which reveals the way of existence of ‘absence’, and the problematic poetic word ‘bird’. Thus, it is revealed that although ‘bird’ is a form of noun or adjective, it operates as a verb usage that appears in the form of endlessly repeating movement (waves) or unstoppable rhythm. In Chapter 3, we focus on how ‘hada’ combined with ‘bird’ in form strips away the existence of ‘bird’ instead of indicating its performativity. Therefore, the fact that ‘bird-hada’ eliminates subjects such as nouns and pronouns and leaves only the adverbial world is analyzed in connection with the method of death of ‘Muhwa’. Chapter 4 focuses on how ‘phantom pain’ causes divisive and molecular changes and is expressed as a method of death called ‘disintegration’. By doing so, it is established that phantom pain, which takes the form of pure creation that is sensed without rest, is related to the sense of ‘sound’ and is expressed verbally in poetic space. In this study, by examining the various ‘death rituals’ that appear in Wing Phantom Pain in relation to the transformed usage of parts of speech, the way in which difficult and ambiguous poetic words operate in Kim Hye-sun’s poetic space is clearly confirmed within a certain system of thought. In future research, we plan to conduct research on the rest of the poetry collections in the Death Trilogy.

이 글은 죽음이 지배적 담론을 형성하는 김혜순의 죽음 3부작 중 『날개 환상통』에 나타난 ‘죽음 의식’을 규명하고, 그것이 주요 시어인 ‘새’, ‘새하다’, ‘환상통’과 어떻게 연동하며 품사적 변용을 일으키는지 분석하였다. 김혜순 시의 죽음 의식은 매번 다양한 변주를 통해 유연하게 재구축되며 주요 시어들의 의미 형성에 기여한다. 이때 품사적 용법 또한 급진적 변화를 겪으므로 김혜순의 시는 ‘대상의 정체’에 주목하기보다 시인의 시적 공간에서 ‘대상이 작동하는 방식’에 집중해야 한다. 2장에서는 ‘부재’의 존재 방식을 현시하는 죽음 의식과 문제 시어 ‘새’를 관련지어 살펴보았다. 그리하여 ‘새’가 형태상 명사나 관형사의 모습을 띠지만 실 제로는 끝없이 반복되는 움직임(파동)이나 멈추지 않는 리듬의 형식으로 출몰하 는 동사적 용법으로 작동함을 밝혀냈다. 3장에서는 형태상 ‘새’와 결합한 ‘하다’가 ‘새’의 수행성을 나타내는 대신 존 재를 탈각시키는 것에 주목하였다. 그래서 ‘새하다’가 명사나 대명사 같은 주체 를 없애고 부사적 세계만 남게 만든다는 사실을 ‘무화’의 죽음 방식과 연결해 분석하였다. 4장에서는 ‘환상통’이 분열적, 분자적 형태 변화를 일으키며 ‘해체’라는 죽음 의 작동방식으로 발현되는 것에 집중했다. 그럼으로써 쉼 없이 감각되는 순수생 성의 형식을 취하는 환상통이 ‘소리’의 감각과 관련되며, 시적 공간에서 동사적 으로 발휘된다는 것을 규명해냈다. 이 연구에서는 『날개 환상통』에 나타나는 다양한 ‘죽음 의식’을 변용되는 품 사적 용법과 관련지어 살핌으로써 난해하고 모호한 시어들이 김혜순의 시적 공 간에서 작동되는 방식을 일정한 사유체계 내에서 명확하게 확인하였다. 이후 연 구에서는 죽음의 3부작 중 나머지 시집에 대한 연구를 진행하고자 한다.
