The purpose of this study is to critically examine the trend of Korean sports since the 1960s from an anthropological perspective. It means extracting the human image implied in the flow of Korean sports and critically comparing it with the human image of philosophical anthropology. Since the 1960s, Korean sports have developed into two streams: competitive sports that pursue only performance and the advancement of national prestige, and leisure sports that only pursue individual satisfaction of desires. The former implies a totalitarian human image that unilaterally forces human collectivity, and the latter implies an individualistic human image that prioritizes the realization of individual desires over the interests of community. Behind this attitude of absoluteizing only certain human images, there is an alternative thinking deeply imprinted in the consciousness of Koreans. As a human definition in philosophical anthropology, openness to the world rejects the attitude of absolutizing only a specific human image and advises to seek a third way while avoiding the two opposing extremes.

이 연구의 목적은 1960년대 이후 한국스포츠 흐름을 인간학적 관점에서 비판적으로 고찰하는 것이다. 즉, 한국스포츠 흐름에 함축된 인간상 을 발췌하고, 그것을 철학적 인간학의 인간상과 비판적으로 비교한다는 뜻이다. 1960년대 이후 한국스포츠는 성과와 국위선양만을 추구하는 경 기스포츠와 개인의 체험과 욕구충족만을 추구하는 여가스포츠 두 흐름 으로 전개되었다. 전자에는 인간의 집단성을 일방적으로 강요하는 전체 주의적 인간상이, 후자에는 공동체의 관심과 이익보다 개인의 욕구 실현 을 우선시하는 개인주의적 인간상이 함축되어 있다. 이렇게 특정 인간상 만을 절대화하는 태도의 이면에는 한국인의 의식에 깊이 각인된 양자택 일적 사고가 자리 잡고 있다. 철학적 인간학의 인간 규정으로서 세계 개 방성은 특정 인간상만을 절대화하는 태도를 거부하며, 대립하는 두 극단 을 지양하면서 제3의 길을 모색하라고 조언한다.
