This study analyzed the number and operations tasks presented in 10 different 5th and 6th grade mathematics textbooks, focusing on task types and equation structures that can emphasize the relational understanding of equation, and derived overall trends and characteristics of tasks that can emphasize the relational understanding of equal sign. The results of this study showed that ‘equation reasoning’ tasks were scarce in the 5th and 6th grade textbooks compared to ‘equal sign meaning’ and ‘equation solving’ task types, and that equations with a=b+c, a=b, and a+b=c+d structures were used very rarely. In particular, equations with a=b+c and a=b structures were concentrated in certain units, and equations with a+b=c+d structures were rarely used. Based on the results of the analysis, we discussed implications for implementing tasks that emphasize relational understanding of equal sign.

본 연구는 2015 개정 5~6학년군 수학 검정교과서 10종에 제시된 수와 연산 영역의 과제를 등호의 관계적 이해를 강조할 수 있는 과제 유형(등호 의미, 등식 추론, 등 식 해결)과 등식 구조를 중심으로 분석하였다. 그 결과 5~6학년군 검정교과서는 등 호 의미나 등식 해결 과제 유형에 비해 등식 추론 과제가 부족한 것으로 나타났으 며, a=b+c, a=b, a+b=c+d 구조의 등식이 매우 드물게 사용된 것을 확인할 수 있었 다. 특히 a=b+c, a=b 구조의 등식은 특정 단원에 편중되어 나타나는 현상을 보였고, a+b=c+d 구조의 등식은 거의 사용되지 않았다는 점을 알 수 있었다. 분석 결과를 토대로 등호의 관계적 이해를 강조할 수 있는 과제를 구현하는 방안에 대한 시사 점을 논의하였다.
