This study conducted a comparative analysis between the current primary mathematics curriculum in Nigeria and South Korea's 2015 revised curriculum, with the intention of providing fundamental information and implications for educational Official Development Assistance (ODA). The analysis revealed significant differences between Nigeria and South Korea in terms of curriculum content, instructional timing, and teaching methods. The Nigerian curriculum has a stronger application of the spiral principle and a higher emphasis on quantitative aptitude problems than the Korean curriculum. It also includes a lot of content related to economic life and the Millennium Development Goals(MDGs), and has some similarities with the British and French curricula. Based on the results of the analysis, implications for mathematics education ODA in Nigeria were presented.

본 연구는 나이지리아 대상 교육 ODA에 참여하는 국내 전문가들에게 나이지리아 초등 수학과 교육과정에 대한 기본 정보를 제공하기 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위해 나이지리아의 현행 초등 수학과 교육과정을 우리나라 2015 개정 교육과정과 비교 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 나이지리아 초등 수학과 교육과정은 내용, 지도 시기, 지도 방법 측면에서 우리나라와 상당한 차이를 나타냈다. 나이지리아는 나선형 원리를 우리나라보다 강하게 적용하며, 양적 적성 문제에 높은 비중을 두고 있었다. 또한, 경제생활 및 새천년개발목표(MDGs)와 관련된 내용을 다수 포함하고 있으며 영국, 프랑스 교육과정과 유사한 측면도 나타났다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 나이지리아 대 상 수학교육 ODA에 관한 시사점을 제시하였다.
