The purpose of this study is to confirm the effect of the social role and attitude of prospective parents in adolescence on the motivation to become parents and to verify the differences according to gender. To this end, 614 high school students in D Metropolitan City were selected as research subjects and a survey was conducted. The main results of this study are as follows. First, as for the variables that influenced the motivation to become parents, the grade and subjective health status had a negative (-) significant effect, and the relationship between the individual and his or her parents, and the social parental role and attitude of prospective parents had a positive (+) ) was found to have a significant effect. Second, it was found that the social parental role and attitude of prospective parents had a positive (+) significant effect on the motivation of parenthood. Third, as a result of examining the differences by gender, in the case of male students, the grade and subjective health status had a negative (-) significant effect, and the parents' marital relationship and the social parental role and attitude of prospective parents had a positive (+) ) was found to have a significant effect. In the case of female students, only the relationship between themselves and their parents and the social parental role and attitude of prospective parents had a positive (+) significant effect, indicating that there was a difference between male and female students in demographic characteristics. Based on the results of this study, it is expected that basic data will be provided for the development of programs to prevent and mediate low birth rates in the future.

본 연구의 목적은 청소년기 예비부모의 사회적 역할과 태도가 부모 됨 동기에 미치는 영향을 확인하고 성별에 따른 차이를 검증하고자 함이다. 이를 위해 D광역시 고등학생 614명을 연구대상 으로 선정하여 설문조사를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모됨의 동기 에 영향을 미친 변수는 학년, 주관적 건강상태는 부(-)의 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 본인과 부모와의 관계, 예비부모의 사회적 부모역할과 태도는 정(+)의 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으 로 나타났다. 둘째, 부모 됨의 동기에 예비부모의 사회적 부모역할과 태도는 정(+)의 유의한 영향 을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 성별에 따른 차이를 살펴본 결과 남학생의 경우는 학년, 주관 적 건강상태는 부(-)의 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 부모의 부부관계, 예비부모의 사회 적 부모역할과 태도는 정(+)의 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 여학생의 경우는 본인과 부모와의 관계, 예비부모의 사회적 부모역할과 태도만이 정(+)의 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나 타나 인구사회학적 특성에서 남학생과 여학생 간에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결 과를 바탕으로 향후 저출산을 예방하고 중재하는 프로그램 개발에 기초자료가 제공되기를 기대하 는 바이다.
