The purpose of this study is to develop and validate a music therapist’s professionalism scale that can measure the level of professionalism of music therapists. The procedures and results are as follows. After analyzing previous studies and literature, 10 music therapists were interviewed in-depth, and 113 initial items were developed by deriving concepts and factors for the professionalism of music therapists. After that, four factors and 36 preliminary items questions were derived through content validity verification, a review form a scholar of Korean Literature and face validity verification. A preliminary survey was conducted on music therapists to collect 330 copies of data, and four factors and 23 main survey items were derived through item analysis and exploratory factor analysis. After collecting 378 copies of data from music therapists under the same conditions as the preliminary survey, the final scale of 4 factors and 23 items were completed through item analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. The four factors were ‘professional knowledge and skills’, ‘work attitude’, ‘work philosophy’, and ‘professional engagement’. In addition, evidence of accredited validity and convergence validity was secured through external criteria. The scale developed as a result of this study is significant in that it can present specific empirical data on the professionalism of domestic music therapy, reflect the unique characteristics of music therapy with different characteristics from other professions, contribute to the activation of empirical study, and can be used in education and research fields of music therapists

이 연구의 목적은 음악치료사 전문직업성 수준을 측정할 수 있는 척도(Music Therapist’s Professionalism Scale)를 개발하고 타당화하는 것이다. 절차와 결과는 다음과 같다. 선행연구와 문헌들 을 분석한 후 음악치료사 10명을 심층면접하고, 음악치료사 전문직업성 관련 개념 및 구성요인을 도출하여 113개의 최초 문항을 개발하였다. 이후 내용타당도 검증, 국문자문, 안면타당도 검증을 통 해 4요인, 36개의 예비 조사 문항을 도출하였다. 음악치료사를 대상으로 예비 조사를 실시하여 330 부의 자료를 수집한 뒤, 문항분석과 탐색적 요인분석을 통해 4요인, 23개의 본조사 문항을 도출하 였다. 예비 조사와 동일 조건의 음악치료사에게 본조사를 실시하여 378부의 자료를 수집한 후, 문 항분석과 확인적 요인분석을 통해 구인타당도 증거를 확보하고 4요인, 23문항의 최종문항을 완성하 였다. 4개 요인은 ‘전문지식과 기술’, ‘직업태도’, ‘직업철학’, ‘전문적 참여행동’이었다. 또한, 외적 준거를 통해 공인타당도와 수렴타당도의 증거를 확보하였다. 본 연구의 결과로 개발된 척도는 국내 음악치료의 전문직업성에 관한 구체적인 경험 자료를 제시할 수 있다는 점, 타 전문직과 다른 특성 을 가진 음악치료의 고유한 특성이 반영된 점, 실증연구의 활성화에 기여할 수 있다는 점, 음악치료 사의 교육 및 연구현장에서 활용될 수 있다는 점에서 의의를 찾을 수 있다.
