This researcher examined the characters of , , and in Woody Allen's representative mid-period works to see the types of comic characters that were diversified through the transformation of comedy, and examined the characters of the characters developed in the play. was analyzed. First, it is a character that displays self-reflective elements. Second, he is a character who artistically sublimates his mistakes through his artistic life. Third, it maintains a cynical, pessimistic, comical, and cheerful atmosphere and represents an independent woman. The change in character type and conflict structure in the three works analyzed by this researcher is a characteristic of the combination of melodrama and comedy. In the conflict structure of the play, the main character shows both the Alazon type and the humorist Bomolochus type, and the female character plays a leading role in influencing the male character and leading the play from the indecisive Eiron type, showing her own existence and He changes into an atypical character seeking authenticity. As sub-genres of comedy continue to emerge, the character changes. It will become more diverse and complex. In this respect, the characters in the melodrama-comedy films of Woody Allen's mid-career films show an atypical change in character, moving away from characters that simply make people laugh and highlighting complex psychological and internal descriptions according to the conflict structure between characters and dramatic functions and actions. We hope that this study will be used as basic data to understand and analyze characters in melodramatic and comedy films, and that new, non-typical characters will continue to be developed and a variety of film works will be introduced.

본 연구자는 코미디의 변형을 통해 다양화된 희극적 캐릭터 유형을 우디 앨런의 대표적인 중기 작품 속 <애니 홀>, <맨하탄>, <한나와 그 자매들> 캐릭터들을 살펴보고 극에서 전개되는 인물의 캐릭터를 분석하였다. 이는 이 시대의 코미디 작품 속 캐릭터 유형의 범위를 확대하고 새로운 캐릭터 제안을 위한 토대를 마련하고자 함이다. 세 영화 작품 속에서 나타난 캐릭터의 유형 분석은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자기 반영적 요소가 나타나는 캐릭터이다. 둘째, 예술적 삶을 통해 자신의 잘못을 예술적으로 승화시키는 캐릭터이다. 셋째, 냉소적이고 비관적이며 코믹하고 쾌활한 분위기를 유지하며 독립적 여성상을 나타낸다. 우디 앨런의 중기 영화는 멜로드라 마와 코미디의 결합으로 캐릭터 유형과 갈등 구조에 캐릭터의 변화를 가져왔다. 극의 갈등 구조 속에서 주인공은 알라존 유형과 익살꾼의 보몰로코스 유형을 동시에 보여주고 여성 캐릭터는 우유부단한 에이론 유형에서 남성 캐릭터에 영향력을 행사하고 극을 이끌어가는 주도적인 역할로 자신의 존재와 진정성을 추구하는 비전형적 캐릭터로 변화한다.본 연구자가 분석한 세 작품 속 캐릭터 유형과 갈등 구조의 변화는 멜로 드라마와 코미디의 결합으로 나타난 특징으로 코미디의 하위 장르가 지속해서 생겨날수록 캐릭터의 변화는 더욱 다양하고 복잡해질 것이다. 이런 점에서 우디 앨런 중기 영화의 멜로 드라마 코미디 영화 속의 캐릭터들은 단순히 웃음을 주는 캐릭터에서 벗어나 캐릭터 간의 갈등 구조, 극적 기능과 행위에 따른 복합적이고 심리적, 내적 묘사가 두드러지는 캐릭터의 비전형적 변화를 보여준다. 본 연구를 통해 멜로 드라마 코미디 영화 속 캐릭터를 이해하고 분석할 수 있는 기초자료로 활용되길 바라며 비전형화된 새로운 캐릭터가 지속적으로 개발되어 다양한 영화 작품가 선보이길 바란다.
