The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between the perceived impact of the MICE industry and policy support for the MICE industry among local residents living in cities designated as international MICE integrated districts; second: to identify heterogeneous groups among all respondents; and third, to identify the aforementioned relationships for each group. In order to effectively achieve the objectives of the study, a survey was conducted among the residents of the international MICE integrated districts, and the relationship between the perceived impact of the MICE industry and policy support was analyzed using PLS-SEM. In addition, considering the potential heterogeneity among the respondents, PLS-POS was employed to segment several latent groups and to identify the relationships for each group. As a result, among the perceived impact of MICE industry by the residents of the international MICE integrated districts, positive perceptions of economic, environmental, sociocultural, and tourism impacts had a positive effect on policy support. In the case of negative perceptions, only tourism impacts were found to have a negative effect. Furthermore, the analysis of potential heterogeneity in the variables included in the study identified three groups, each of which did not differ in terms of gender, age, region of residents, awareness of the MICE industry, or perceived importance of the MICE industry. the relationship between them varied across the three groups, with positive environmental impacts and negative tourism impacts in Group 1, negative sociocultural impacts and positive tourism impacts in group 2, and positive and negative tourism impacts in Group 2, the positive and negative economic impacts in Group 3 having a significant impact on policy support.

본 연구의 목적은 첫째, 국제회의 복합지구에 지정된 도시에 거주하고 있는 지역주민 들이 인식하는 MICE 산업의 효과와 MICE 산업 정책지지도 사이의 관계를 파악하고, 둘째, 전체 응답자 사이에 이질적 집단을 파악하고, 셋째, 각 집단에서의 MICE 산업의 효과와 정책 지지도 사이의 관계를 파악하는 것이다. 연구의 목적을 효과적으로 달성하기 위하여 국제회의복합지구 지역주민들을 대상으 로 설문조사를 실시하고, 이를 바탕으로 MICE산업 효과 인식과 정책 지지도 사이의 관 계를 PLS-SEM을 통해 분석을 실시하였다. 또한, 설문에 응답한 연구대상들 사이에 잠 재적 이질성이 있을 것을 고려하여 PLS-POS를 통해 세분화를 실시하였고, 각각의 집단 에 대한 MICE산업 효과 인식과 정책 지지도의 관계를 분석하였다. 가설 검증 결과, 국제회의 복합지구 지역주민들이 인식하는 MICE 산업 효과 중에서 경제적, 환경적, 사회문화적, 관광산업적 영향에 대한 긍정적인 인식은 정책지지도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 부정적인 인식에서는 관광산업적 영향만 부(-) 의 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한, 연구에 포함된 변수를 통한 잠재적 이질성 분석에서는 총 3개 집단으로 구분되었으며, 각 집단은 성별, 연령, 거주지역, MICE 산 업 인지도, MICE 산업 중요도 인식 등에서 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 세 개의 집 단은 MICE산업 효과 인식과 정책 지지도 사이의 관계에서 각기 다른 형태를 보였으며, 집단 1은 긍정적인 환경적 영향과 부정적 관광산업적 영향, 집단 2는 부정적 사회문화 적 영향, 긍정적 관광산업적 영향, 집단 3은 긍/부정적인 경제적 영향 인식이 정책 지 지도에 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다.
