[Purpose] This study aimed to examine whether the financial characteristics and quality of earnings of the e-commerce industry, which has been growing continuously since the COVID pandemic, are different from those of the non-self-dealing industry, and the relationship between these variables. [Method] To this end, a total of 4,089 samples listed on the Korean KOSDAQ market from 2020 to 2022 were finally selected, and research results were derived through independent sample t-test and multivariate regression analysis. [Research results] First, in the independent sample t-test results, the e-commerce industry showed discriminatory results in profit quality and profitability and in some variables of stability, growth, and productivity. On the other hand, it was confirmed that some of the activities and productivity were weaker than those of the non-autonomous trading industry. Second, as a result of regression analysis, both groups were statistically significantly confirmed to be related to the quality of profits in terms of profitability, stability, growth, and activity. On the other hand, in the case of productivity, statistically significant relevance was shown only in the non-automagnetic trading industry. These results appear to be the result of the e-commerce industry in which the number of employees relatively did not affect the non-self-dealing industry group. The results of this study are expected to be a little helpful in making policy decisions in the e-commerce industry, which has continued to grow since the COVID-19 pandemic. However, considering that the sample of the study is limited and the current COVID situation is not over, it is expected that more robust research results will be produced if these limitations are controlled in the future.

본 연구는 코스닥시장에 상장된 기업을 대상으로 코로나 팬데믹 이후 지속적으로 성장하고 있는 전자상거 래산업의 재무적 특성과 이익의 질이 비전자상거래산업과 차이가 있는지를 살펴보고 이들 변수간의 관련성 을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2020년부터 2022년까지 우리나라 코스닥시장에 상장된 총 4,089개 표본을 최종적으로 선정하여 독립표본 t-검정과 다변량회귀분석을 통해 연구결과를 도출하였다. 본 연구의 검증 결과, 첫째, 독립표본 t-검정 결과에서는 전자상거래산업은 이익의 질과 수익성에서 그리 고 안정성, 성장성, 생산성의 일부 변수에서 차별적인 결과를 보였다. 반면, 활동성과 생산성의 일부에서 비 전자상거래산업에 비하여 취약함을 확인하였다. 둘째, 회귀분석 결과, 두집단 모두에서 수익성, 안정성, 성장성, 활동성 모두에서 통계적으로 유의하게 이익 의 질과 관련성을 확인하였다. 반면, 생산성의 경우 비전자상거래산업군에서만 통계적으로 유의한 관련성을 나타내었다. 이러한 결과는 전자상거래산업의 경우 종업원의 수가 비전자상거래산업군에 비하여 상대적으로 영향을 미치지 않은 결과로 보여진다. 본 연구의 결과는 코로나 팬데믹 이후 지속적으로 성장하고 있는 전자상거래산업군의 정책결정에 조금이 나마 도움이 될 것으로 판단된다. 다만, 연구의 표본이 제한적이며 현재도 코로나 상황이 끝나지 않음을 감 안한다면 향후 이러한 한계점을 통제할 경우 좀더 강건한 연구결과가 도출될 것으로 여겨진다.
