This study is a phenomenological study on the intercultural experiences of workers at community children’s centers, which are rapidly changing into a multicultural environment. After in-depth interviews with 8 workers (4 facility managers and 4 welfare workers) from community children’s centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi area, the data were analyzed using Max van Manen’s hermeneutical phenomenological research method, which is the four existential entities (physicality, temporality, spatiality, and relationality). Regarding the intercultural experiences of the workers of the community children’s center, physicality is the joy of growing together, the body feels conflicts and limitations, temporality is the process of changing into a multicultural society, spatiality is a time to face and solve problems, spatiality is a place where differences and mistakes are allowed, and a place where people dream and live together to dream of happy fruits, and relationships are classified into a total of 9 essential themes and 26 sub-themes, such as harmony, true interculture, cooperation and linkage. Based on this, we proposed directions and ways to enhance intercultural competence through the intercultural experience of community children’s center workers.

본 연구는 다문화 환경으로 급격하게 변화하고 있는 지역아동센터 종사자의 상 호문화적 경험에 관한 현상학적 연구이다. 서울과 경기지역의 지역아동센터 종 사자(시설장 4명, 생활복지사 4명) 8명과의 심층 면담 후, 막스 반 매넌(Max van Manen)의 4가지 실존체(신체성, 시간성, 공간성, 관계성)인 해석학적 현상학 연구 방 법을 통해 자료를 분석하였다. 지역아동센터 종사자의 상호문화적 경험에 대해 신체성 은 함께 성장하는 즐거움, 갈등과 한계를 느끼는 몸으로 시간성은 다문화사회로 변화 하는 과정, 문제를 직면하고 해결하는 시간으로 공간성은 다름과 틀림이 허용되는 곳, 함께 행복한 열매를 꿈꾸며 살아가는 곳으로 관계성은 어울림, 진정한 상호문화, 협력 과 연계로 총 9개의 본질적 주제와 26개의 하위주제로 분류되었다. 이를 토대로 지역 아동센터 종사자의 상호문화적 경험을 통한 상호문화역량 증진 방안을 제시하였다.
