This study aimed to present social welfare intervention strategies by verifying the effectiveness of Integrated Cognitive Activity Program (ICAP) for improving cognitive function of elderly using elderly day-care centers. Using a pre-postal experimental design, pre-post difference was identified by comparing the elderly participating in the program with a control group not participating in the ICAP. Results showed that the participating group with ICAP implemented had a higher degree of cognitive function improvement than the control group without ICAP implementation. Second, significant improvements were found in orientation, attention, space-time function, execution function, and language function among program sub-factors, but not in memory. Based on results of this study, the following suggestions can be made. First, more professional and standardized programs should be distributed and activated in the future. Second, professionals specialized in dementia management should be further trained. Third, the government should support the provision of high quality programs.

본 연구는 노인주간보호센터를 이용하는 노인들을 대상으로 통합 인지활동형 프로그램(ICAP)을 실시 한 후 노인들의 인지기능에 영향을 미치는 효과성에 대해 검증하여 사회복지적인 개입전략을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 유사실험설계로써 비동일성 통제집단 사전 사후 전후실험설계로 프로그램 참여노인과 비참여 노인을 비교하여 사전 사후 차이를 파악하였다. 본 연구의 연구 결과, 첫째, 본 연구에서 통합 인지활동형 프로그램을 실시한 참여집단은 실시하지 않은 비참여집단에 비해 인지기능 향상 정도가 높은 것으로 나타 났다. 둘째, 프로그램하위요인에서 지남력, 주의력, 시공간 기능, 집행기능, 언어 기능 등에서 유의미한 결과가 나타났지만, 그러나 기억력은 유의미한 결과가 나타나지 않았다. 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 한 제언으로, 첫째, 앞으로 보다 전문적이고 표준화된 프로그램을 보급하고 활성화 시켜야 한다. 둘째, 치매 관리에 특화된 전문인력이 더욱 양성되어야 한다. 셋째, 정부에서는 양질의 프로그램을 제공할 수 있도록 지원해야 한다.
