The study aimed to design the curriculum and analyze the results of clinical pastoral education as a subject in pastoral ministry, examining its impact on the identity and professionalism of pastors and its potential to be implemented in the field of ministry. The author assumed that clinical pastoral education could enhance practical skills and provide essential support for pastors to effectively address various situations. To explore the potential for improving pastoral care methods among theology students, the study categorized the effects of clinical pastoral education into self-understanding, self-management and self-evaluation, counseling practicum and identity perception, pastoral competence perception, acceptance, and openness in relationships. To achieve the goals of clinical pastoral education, participants evaluated their ability to care for struggling counselees as pastoral counselors and examined whether the psychological, social, and spiritual growth of counselees was progressing effectively. The process involved attending weekly lectures on pastoral care, conducting counseling sessions with counselees, and recording the content of these sessions in the form of case reports. Participants presented their case reports, learning question techniques, empathy, understanding and analysis of counselees, and their own theological insights. For the research, a pre-survey was conducted to assess motivation, expectations, self-understanding, identity, and professionalism related to course enrollment using multiple-choice and open-ended questions on a Likert 5-point scale. A post-survey was conducted to assess the degree of course objectives achieved, satisfaction with the course, and perception of the role of clinical education using Likert 5-point scale, multiple-choice, and open-ended questions. This study hopes to contribute to understanding pastoral identity, developing professional counseling skills, integrating theology and ministry, facilitating theological reflection, and fostering the training of healthy pastors.

본 연구는 교과과목으로서 임상목회교육이 목회자의 정체성과 전문성을 점검하고 목회자가 목회현장에서 이를 구체적으로 실현할 수 있도록 수업 내용을 설계하고 그 결과를 분석하였다. 연구자는 임상목회교육이 목회자가 목회현장에서 실천적 역량을 높이고, 다양한 상황에 유연하게 대처하도록 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이라 가정하였다. 이를 위해, 임상목회교육이 신학생들의 목회돌봄 방법 향상의 가능성을 알아보기 위 한 항목으로, 신학생들의 자기이해, 자기관리 및 자기평가, 상담실습과 정체성 인식, 목회자 역량 인식, 그리고 관계에 대한 수용성과 개방성 등으로 분류하여, 그 효과에 관하여 연구하였다. 임상목회교육의 목표를 성취하기 위해, 참여자들은 목회상담자로서 고난을 겪는 내 담자를 잘 돌보고 있는지 평가하고, 내담자의 심리사회적 및 영적인 성장이 제대로 이루어지고 있는지 점검받았다. 그 과정은 학습목표에 성실하게 수행할 수 있도록 매 주 목회적 돌봄에 관련된 강의를 듣고 내담자와 상담한 내용을 축어록의 형태로 기록 하고 기록한 축어록을 발표한다. 또한 질문, 공감, 내담자 이해와 분석과 목회상담자 자신의 이해 및 신학적인 통찰을 학습하였다. 연구를 위해 사전 조사는 수업 신청의 동기와 기대 및 수업과 관련한 자기 이해, 정체성, 전문성에 관한 항목으로 작성하였고, 작성된 항목은 다중응답형과 주관식 서 술형 문항을 기술하며 Likert 5점 척도형으로 제시했다. 사후 조사는 수업목표 달성도 와 수업 만족도, 임상교육의 역할인식에 관하여 Likert 5점 척도형, 선다형, 자유 기술 형으로 제시했다. 연구자는 본 연구가 목회자의 정체성을 이해함과 더불어, 대인관계 및 전문적인 상담목회 기술 향상을 통해, 신학과 목회활동을 통합하고, 신학적인 성찰 을 돕고 건강한 목회자 양성에 이바지하게 되기를 기대한다.
