The purpose of this study was to analyze the contents of created Korean children’s songs contained in the current music textbooks and to suggest the criteria for selecting created Korean children’s songs, tha can be used as song materials and examples of learning activities. As a research method, first, the meaning and musical characteristics of created Korean children’s songs put together through a literature review. Created Korean children’s songs refer to music pieces composed using Korean musical grammar, including cadence, constituent notes, sigimsae, melodic progressions, jangdan, and forms, featuring lyrics that reflect Koreans’ universal emotions and contemporary culture in accordance with the rules of the versification of Korean traditional poetry. Second, the content related to the created Korean children’s songs in the current music textbooks was analyzed based on the aforementioned characteristics of created Korean children’s songs. Third, criteria for selecting created Korean children’s songs as song materials and examples of leaning activities were presented. The results of the study are as follows. As song materials, created Korean children’s songs should, first, adhere to the rules of the versification of Korean traditional poetry while addressing themes of both tradition and contemporary culture. Second, They should be composed in a variety of Korean musical grammar so that characteristics of Korean music can be naturally taught. Third, they should be created and organized in a standardized and accurate notation system. There are learning activities that can facilitate a natural understanding of Korean musical grammar: 1. learning activities that can guide Korean music elements 2. learning activities that have made various attempts centered on Korean music grammar 3. learning activities that integrate music learning with everyday life experiences. By including created Korean children’s songs that meet the criteria in the 2022 revised elementary music textbooks, it is expected that they will play a pivotal role in enabling elementary students to enjoyably learn Korean music. Ultimately, it is hoped that students will be able to naturally and joyfully engage with Korean music.

본 연구는 현행 음악교과서에 수록된 창작국악동요의 내용을 분석하고, 제재곡으로 활용 할 수 있는 창작국악동요 선정기준과 학습 활동 사례를 제시하는 데 목적을 두었다. 연구 방법은 첫째, 문헌 연구를 통해 창작국악동요의 의미와 음악적 특징을 정리하였다. 창작국악동요는 우리 시가의 율격에 따라 우리의 보편적인 정서와 현대 문화를 반영한 노랫 말에 종지, 구성음, 시김새, 가락 진행, 장단, 형식 등 우리 음악 어법으로 작곡한 곡을 의미한 다. 둘째, 현행 음악교과서에 수록된 창작국악동요를 앞서 정리한 창작국악동요의 특징에 따 라 관련 내용을 분석하였다. 셋째, 제재곡으로서 창작국악동요의 선정기준과 학습 활동 사례 를 제시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 제재곡으로서 창작국악동요는 첫째, 우리 시가의 율격에 맞게 전통과 현대 문화를 주제로 작사한 곡이어야 한다. 둘째, 다양한 우리 음악 어법으로 창작하 여 국악의 특징을 자연스럽게 지도할 수 있는 곡이어야 한다. 셋째, 표준화되고 정확한 기보 체제로 창작ㆍ정리된 곡이어야 한다. 우리 음악 어법을 자연스럽게 익히는 학습 활동에는 첫째, 국악 요소를 지도할 수 있는 학습 활동, 둘째, 국악 어법 중심의 다양한 시도가 이루어진 학습 활동, 셋째, 생활 연계 학습 활동이 있다. 기준에 부합하는 창작국악동요가 2022 개정 초등 음악교과서에 수록됨으로써 초등학생들 에게 국악을 즐겁게 익힐 수 있는 마중물 역할을 하고, 궁극적으로 학생들이 국악을 자연스 럽고 재미있게 즐길 수 있기를 기대한다.
