This study was conducted to understand the effect of youth’s multicultural acceptance on interaction with their multicultural peer groups. For the purpose of the study, among the 2021 National Multicultural Acceptance Survey data, youth multicultural acceptance data for 5,000 adolescents were analyzed. The main results of the study are as follows. First, female adolescents generally had more multicultural acceptance than male adolescents, and middle school students had more multicultural acceptance than high school students. Also, rural residents’ rejection of Multiculturalism was higher than those in metro cities, and differences in family economy levels needed to be more consistent. Second, sub-variables of multicultural acceptance were found to affect the willingness to interact with multicultural groups of their peers. Still, they did not have a significant impact on actual interaction. Third, it was found that changes in multicultural consciousness through multicultural human rights education affect interaction with their multicultural peer groups. Based on these results, the direction of multicultural education for the youths and the limitations of this research were presented.

본 연구는 청소년의 다문화 수용성이 또래 다문화집단과의 직접교류행동에 미치는 영향을 파악 하기 위하여 수행되었다. 연구의 목적을 위하여 2021년 국민 다문화수용성조사의 자료 중 청소년 5,000명을 대상으로 한 청소년다문화수용성 자료를 분석하였다. 연구의 주요 결과를 제시하면 다 음과 같다. 첫째, 전반적으로 여자청소년들이 남자청소년들에 비하여 다문화수용성이 높은 것으로 나타났고, 중학생이 고등학생에 비하여 다문화수용성이 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 읍면지역 거주자 들의 거부회피정서가 대도시와 중소도시 지역 거주자들에 비하여 높은 것으로 나타났다. 그에 비 해 가정경제수준에 따른 차이는 일관된 경향성을 나타내지 않았다. 둘째, 다문화수용성의 하위변 인들이 또래 다문화집단과의 교류행동의지에는 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나, 실제 교류행동 에는 큰 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 다문화인권교육을 통한 다문화의식의 변화 도는 또래 다문화집단과의 직접교류행동에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 청소년 다문화교육의 방향과 연구의 한계 등을 제시하였다.
