The aim of this study is to clarify the learning objectives of Korean translation and interpretation education as a foreign language, and to structure educational content stage-by-stage based on these objectives. As Korea's standing improves, there is an increase in foreign learners showing interest in Korean translation and interpretation education. However, the reality is that there aren't many programs sufficiently developed for them to learn Korean translation and interpretation as a foreign language. To develop a Korean translation and interpretation educational program for these foreign learners, it is necessary to first define what the objectives of such an education should be, and then to conduct research on the corresponding curriculum. To this end, the researcher has analyzed the current status of Korean translation and interpretation education as a foreign language in Korea, and established the objectives for such education based on this analysis. Furthermore, based on previous studies showing that learners begin to engage with translation and interpretation at the intermediate level, the learning objectives have been further divided into four stages. The educational content for each stage has been examined with a focus on improving Korean language proficiency, understanding Korean culture, and enhancing theoretical and practical skills in translation and interpretation. This study can serve as fundamental data for the future development of various curricula aimed at Korean translation and interpretation education for foreign learners.

본 연구의 목적은 외국어로서의 한국어 통번역 교육의 학습 목표를 밝히고 이를 바탕으로 한 단계별 교육 내용을 구성하는 데에 있다. 한국의 위상이 높아짐에 따라 한국어 통번역 교육에 관심을 가지는 외국인 학습자가 증가하고 있다. 그러나 현재 그들이 외국어로서의 한국어 통번역 교육을 받을 만한 과정이 많이 개발되어 있지 않은 실정이다. 외국인 학습자를 위한 한국어 통번역 교육과정을 개발하기 위해서는 먼저 통번역 교육의 목표가 무엇인지 밝히고 이에 따른 교육 내용에 대한 연구가 이루어져야 한다. 이에 연구자는 현재 한국에서 이루어지고 있는 외국어로서의 한국어 통번역 교육 현황을 분석하고 이를 바탕으로 외국어로서의 한국어 통번역 교육 목표를 설정하였다. 그리고 학습자들이 중급 단계에서부터 통번역을 경험한다는 선행 연구 결과를 바탕으로 학습 목표를 다시 네 단계로 세분화하고 단계별 교육 내용을 한국어 능력 향상, 한국 문화의 이해, 통번역 이론 및 실무 역량 강화 차원에서 살펴보았다. 이러한 연구는 앞으로 외국어로서의 한국어 통번역 교육을 위한 다양한 교육과정을 개발하는 데 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
