The purpose of this study is to suggest the direction of invention education in elementary teacher training colleges and to increase the effectiveness of invention education by pre-service elementary teachers by confirming the importance and performance of core invention competencies that pre-service elementary teachers think. To do this, a survey was conducted on 274 prospective elementary school teachers who are attending B education university, and the results are as follows. First, prospective elementary school teachers valued core invention competency regardless of gender and whether or not they had experience in invention education, and both female and male students valued personal competency as the most important, followed by creative competency and technical competency Second, looking at the relationship between the importance and performance of pre-service elementary school teachers' invention core competencies, regardless of gender or invention education experience, the importance for all large domains of invention core competencies was high at 4.25 to 4.38, but the performance was 3.69. ~ 4.02, showing 3 points in most sub-domains, which is low compared to importance. Third, as a result of the IPA Matrix analysis of the core invention competency of pre-service elementary school teachers, the fourth quadrant, which is an area of central interest that requires intensive efforts to improve the low performance level, is an area that is considered important but has low performance. 'Creative competency', among the sub-areas, 'science and technology utilization ability' and 'creativity' areas were located. In conclusion, education to improve technical and creative competencies among the large areas of inventive core competencies should be strengthened, and the performance level of preparatory elementary school teachers for inventive core competencies does not reach the importance level, so the ability to perform in large areas of inventive core competencies Various education such as invention education and invention club activities that can improve students' skills are needed.

이 연구는 예비 초등교사가 생각하는 발명핵심역량에 대한 중요도와 수행도를 확인하여 초등교원양 성대학에서의 발명교육의 방향을 제시하고 예비 초등교사의 발명교육의 효과를 높이는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 B 교육대학교에 재학 중인 예비 초등교사 274명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였으며 그 결 과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 예비 초등교사는 성별과 발명교육 경험 유무에 관계없이 발명핵심역량에 대해 중요하게 생각 하고 있었으며, 여학생과 남학생 모두 인성적 역량에 대해 가장 중요하게 생각하였고, 창의적 역량, 기 술적 역량 순으로 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 예비 초등교사의 발명핵심역량에 대한 중요도와 수행도 간의 관계를 살펴보면 성별이나 발명 교육 경험과 관계없이 모든 발명핵심역량의 대영역에 대해 중요도는 4.25~4.38로 높은 수준이지만, 수행도는 3.69~ 4.02로 대부분의 하위영역에서 3점대로 중요도에 비해 낮은 수준이다. 셋째, 예비 초등교사의 발명핵심역량 IPA Matrix 분석 결과 중요하게 생각하고 있으나 수행도가 낮 은 영역으로 낮은 수행도를 높이기 위한 집중적인 노력이 필요한 중점 관심 영역인 제 4사분면에는 발 명핵심역량의 대영역 중 ‘창의적 역량’, 하위영역 중 ‘과학 기술 활용 능력’, ‘창의성’ 영역이 위치하고 있다. 결론적으로 발명핵심역량의 대영역 중 기술적 역량과 창의적 역량을 향상하기 위한 교육이 강화되 어야 하며 발명핵심역량에 대해 예비 초등교사의 수행도는 중요도에 미치지 못하므로 발명핵심역량의 대영역에 대한 수행 능력을 향상할 수 있는 발명교육, 발명 동아리 활동 등의 다양한 교육이 필요하다.
