This study focused on verifying the activities of the participants and the main places of the protest against the Okgu Peasant Uprising that took place in November 1927. The Okgu Peasant Uprising was caused by the brutal exploitation of Iyeopsa Farm. Iyeopsa Farm committed brutal exploitation, such as illegal use of metrology, unilateral writing of tenant farming contracts and arbitrary deprivation of tenant farming rights, and setting a high rate of tenant farming fees of more than 70%. Innovation and retention young people inside and outside Seosu-ri formed the Seosu Youth Association and the Seosu Farmers' Association to unite tenant farmers and make them conscious of themselves through farmers' night school. And on November 9, 1927, in the meeting of the General Assembly of the Seosu Branch of the Okgu Farmers' Association, they decided to cut the rent by 45% or less and negotiated with Iyeopsa. However, the Japanese did not recognize the farmers' association, and the Japanese police took a method of destroying the tenant farming dispute by suppressing the representative of the farmers' association. The Japanese police illegally detained Jang Tae-sung, but the Seosu Youth Association and farmers' union members did not shrink, but rather raided the host offices to rescue Jang Tae-sung. Since then, when the Japanese colonial rule detained the leaders of the farmers' association on a large scale, the farmers' union members became the main agents and staged several protest rallies. Thirty-four people were punished for the incident, which distorted the nature of the police's suppression of legitimate tenant farming disputes. Through the manipulation of evidence, Jang Tae-sung, the leader of the farmers' union, was turned into a shameless criminal who committed defamation and intimidation, and others were punished as prisoners of detention and sedition.

이 연구는 1927년 11월 발생한 옥구농민항쟁에 대해서 참여 주체들의 활동과 항쟁 주요 장소들을 고증하는 데 중점을 둔 것이다. 옥구농민항쟁은 이엽사농장의 무도한 수탈로 인해 발생했다. 이엽사농장은 부정한 도량형 사용, 농장의 일방적인 소작계약서 작성과 임의적인 소작권 박탈, 7할이 넘는 고율의 소작료 책정 등 무도한 수탈을 자행했다. 서수리 내외의 혁신ㆍ유지청년들이 협력하여 서수청년회와 서수농민조합을 결성해서 소작농들을 단결시키고, 농민야학을 통해서 주체로 의식화하는 활동을 했다. 그리고 1927년 11월 9일 옥구농민조합 서수지부 총회를 통해서 소작료를 4할 5부 이하로 할 것 등을 결의하고 이엽사와 교섭했다. 하지만 일제는 농민조합을 인정하지 않고, 일제 경찰이 직접 당사자로 나서서 농민조합 대표를 탄압하여 소작쟁의를 파괴하려는 방법을 취했다. 일제 경찰은 장태성을 불법 구금했으나 서수청년회와 농민조합원들은 위축되지 않고 오히려 주재소를 습격하여 장태성을 구출했다. 이후 일제가 농민조합 지도자들을 대규모 구금하자 농민조합원들은 주체가 되어서 수차례 항의투쟁을 했다. 이 사건으로 34명이 처벌되었는데, 일제는 이 사건이 정당한 소작쟁의에 대한 경찰의 탄압이라는 본질을 왜곡했다. 증거 조작을 통해 농민조합 지도자 장태성을 명예훼손 및 협박을 자행한 파렴치범으로 둔갑시키고, 다른 사람들은 구금자 탈취 및 소요범으로 처벌했다.
