The use of digital tools is also being actively carried out in the Korean language education community. It is true that the concept of “Korean digital textbooks” is still unfamiliar and the definition is ambiguous. In the era of generalization of video education, “the use of web-based materials” has been treated as a subclass of multimedia teaching and learning methods, but it is now leading to the need for “more standardized Korean digital textbooks.” Therefore, this paper aims to examine a series of research achievements to produce digital textbooks as one of the Korean language education textbooks and to examine their limitations and directions. Chapter 2 examined the problems of digital textbooks. It is urgent to strengthen the usability of current digital textbooks. Chapter 3 examines how digital textbooks are being developed in the field of Korean language education. We looked at two papers of Korean digital textbook and the English digital textbooks used in elementary schools. This paper examined the direction of digital textbooks by synthesizing the previous discussions. The first factor is the optimality of digital contents. Optimality means that the content is suitable for learners and instructor variables, educational environment, and regional characteristics. Next is usability. Usability is largely divided into four categories: ease of use, efficiency, readability and stability, This paper is meaningful in exploring the possibility of the development of Korean digital textbooks, and discussions on actual production should be followed.

본고는 한국어 디지털 교재를 제작하고자 하는 일련의 연구 업적을 살펴보고 그 한 계와 방향성을 고찰하는 데 목적을 둔다. 한국어 수업 방식은 화상 수업, 스마트폰 앱 을 활용한 교육, 메타버스 공간에서의 교육 등 ICT의 발전을 이루고 있으나 한국어 교 재는 아직까지 서책형 교재에 의존하고 있는 것이 사실이다. 이에 디지털 네이티브인 한국어 학습자들을 위해 그에 걸맞은 형태의 교재를 제공할 수 있도록 연구하고 그 업 적을 가시화시킬 필요가 있다. 이를 위해 본고는 먼저 디지털 교과서의 문제점을 살펴 실사용성 강화가 절실함을 보였다. 이러한 문제점은 한국어 디지털 교재 개발을 위한 시사점으로 이어진다. 3장에서는 디지털 교재 개발이 어떻게 이루어지고 있는지 한국 어 디지털 교재 연구와 국내 초등학교 영어 디지털 교과서를 함께 살펴보았다. 4장에서 는 앞선 논의를 종합하여 그 방향성에 대해 살펴보았다. 그 첫째 요소로 콘텐츠의 최적 성을 들었다. 콘텐츠는 학습자 및 교수자 변인, 교육 환경, 지역적 특색 등에 최적으로 구성되어야 한다. 이것은 디지털 도구의 강점으로, 서책형과 구분되는 가장 큰 특성이 라 할 수 있다. 다음은 사용성을 들었다. 사용성은 다시 용이성과 효율성, 가독성과 안정성 네 가지로 구분된다. 본고는 한국어 디지털 교재의 발전 가능성을 모색하는데 의의를 둔 연구인바, 실제 제작과 관련한 논의가 후행되어야 할 것이다.
