The purpose of this study was to examine Dasan’s perception of ‘sang(象)’ reflected in Dasan’s discussion on Chinese character, Classical Chinese interpretation, language conversion, etc., and based on this, was to identify Dasan’s perception of ‘sang’ reflected in his interpretation on the Book of Songs in a more threedimensional way. Looking at the composition of the interpretational structure of Confucian Classics, the meaning of ‘sang’ appearing in Dasan’s interpretation of the Book of Songs and the Book of Change has several characteristics. First, Dasan’s thinking through the ‘sang’ corresponds to the part that can effectively confirm his imaginal thinking. Second, Dasan’s ‘sang’ as an interpretational structure of Confucian Classics can be regarded as one of the organic interpretational structures that penetrates the interpretation of Chinese Character and exegesis. Third, Dasan’s ‘sang’ as an interpretational structure of Confucian Classics contains both the strictness of the ancient texts pursued in the interpretation of Chinese Character and exegesis and the ‘tasty’ sensibility of the appreciation embodied by the ‘sang’. Among them, the ‘Sing things to compare things(詠物喩事)’ in the Book of Change closely intersects with the part mentioned as Bixing(比興) in the Book of Songs. Fourth, one of Dasan’s perspectives on Bixing, which Xing taken in the Book of Songs often simultaneously contains plural meanings (詩之取興多有兼含數意), can be understood in connection with the one-to-many correspondence in his perception of ‘sang’ in the Book of Change. From the above features, we can confirm that Dasan’s perception of ‘sang’ as an interpretational structure of the Book of Songs reflects Dasan’s unique aspect of thinking, that is to say, it is linked to his perception of ‘sang’ in the Book of Change, at the same time combining his analysis on Chinese Character analysis, understanding on exegesis, and perception on language conversion(translation).

본 연구는 다산의 문자와 한문 해석, 언어 전환 등의 논의에 반영된 다산의 ‘상’ 인식을 고찰하고 이를 바탕으로 다산 『시』 해석에 반영된 ‘상’ 인식을 보다 입체적으로 규명하는 데 주요 목적이 있다. 경전 해석 구도에서 살펴볼 때, 다산의 『시』⋅『역』 해석에 등장하는 ‘상’의 의미는 몇 가 지 특징을 지닌다. 첫째, 다산의 ‘상’을 통한 사유는 그의 형상사유를 효과적으로 확인할 수 있는 부분에 해당한다. 둘째, 다산의 ‘상’은 문자⋅훈고 인식을 관통하는, 유기적인 해석 구도 의 하나로 간주할 수 있다. 셋째, 다산의 경전 해석 구도로서의 ‘상’은 문자, 훈고 해석에서 추구하는 다산식 본의 고구의 엄밀성과 ‘상’이 구현해낸 ‘유미(有味)’한 감상의 감수성을 동시 에 담아내고 있다. 그 가운데 『역』의 ‘영물유사(詠物喩事)’적인 부분이 『시경』의 ‘비흥’으로 거론되는 부분과 긴밀하게 교차된다. 넷째, 『시』의 ‘취흥(取興)’이 복수(複數)의 의미를 겸하 는 경우가 많다[詩之取興, 多有兼含數意]’는 관점은, 『역』 ‘상’에 대한 일대다(一對多)의 대응 적 인식과 연계하여 이해할 수 있다. 상기 특징들을 통해 볼 때, 다산의 『시』 해석 구도로서의 ‘상’ 인식에는 『역』의 ‘상’ 인식과 연계되는 동시에, 다산의 문자 분석, 훈고 인식, 언어전환(번역) 인식 등이 결합된, 다산 사유의 개성적인 면모가 반영되었다 할 수 있다.
