- This study aims to broaden the understanding of transportation mode choice patterns in the field of international logistics by analyzing the Korean export air cargo in detail at the basic item level(HS CODE 6-unit) of international merchandise trade. The study also aims to gain implications for competitive and complementary relationships with other modes. In addition, the study identifies techniques to explore export products that undergo exceptional changes before and after periods of severe shocks to the global economy and provides interpretations of key features and discussions for further research. The need for research that accurately analyzes the patterns and changes in the choice of various modes of transportation will be even greater in the future, focusing on medium-level technology industries, where competition between modes of transportation is most active.
