The background of this study is the expanding role of junior colleges as a higher education option for vocational education. This expansion is driven by the increasing demand for job competency retraining in the era of the 4th industrial revolution and industrial change. The study aims to empirically analyze how learning motivation affects educational satisfaction and career factors for adult learners who attend university. To achieve this goal, a self-administered survey was conducted from March 1 to March 31, 2023, targeting adult learners enrolled in regular departments at K-University. A total of 210 questionnaires were utilized for the empirical analysis. The study yielded the following results: Firstly, there is a positive correlation between learning motivation and educational satisfaction among adult learners. Specifically, when adult learners have learning-oriented motivation, a high sense of challenge for learning and new things, and acquire various knowledge, their satisfaction with university education increases. Secondly, all four sub-factors of educational satisfaction - educational results, educational content, educational environment, and teaching quality - significantly impact career factors. In other words, higher perceived educational satisfaction is associated with greater career advancement potential. Thirdly, regarding the impact of learning motivation on career factors, it was observed that goal-oriented motivation and learning-oriented motivation, sub-factors of learning motivation, significantly influence career factors. This implies that adult learners experience greater career advancement when they exhibit high levels of goal-oriented motivation and learning-oriented motivation within their overall learning motivation. The study aims to provide fundamental data for the development of effective customized curricula and educational environments for adult learners, as well as the establishment of career guidance services for those seeking new job opportunities and career paths. Additionally, efforts are being made to open dedicated departments and develop tailored programs for adult learners. Empirical studies targeting adult learners currently enrolled in regular courses serve as crucial foundational data for these initiatives.

4차 산업혁명 시대와 산업변화에 따른 직무역량 재교육에 대한 요구가 증가함에 따라 직업교육을 위한 고등교육기관으로 전문대학의 역할이 확장되고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 성인 학습자가 대학을 진학하는데 학습 동기가 교육 만족도와 진로 요인에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 실증적으로 분석하였다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위해, 실제 K-대학교 정규 전문학사과정에 재학 중인 성인 학습자를 대상으로 하 여 2023년 3월 1일부터 3월 31일까지 자기기입식으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며 총 210부의 설문지를 실증분석에 활용하였다. 연구 결과는 첫째, 학습 동기가 교육 만족도에 미치는 영향 관계에서 학습지향 동기가 교육 만족도 에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미쳤다. 즉, 성인 학습자들은 학습지향 동기인 다양한 지식을 습득하고 배움 과 새로운 것에 대한 도전 의식이 높으면 대학의 교육 만족도가 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 교육 만족도의 하위요인인 교육 결과, 교육내용, 교육환경, 교수법의 질 순으로 4개의 요인 모두 진로 요인 에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 교육 만족도를 높게 지각할수록 진로 요인이 높 다는 것을 알 수 있으며 특히 교육 결과를 높게 인식하면 자신의 진로에 대해서 확신이 생긴다. 셋째, 학습 동기가 진로 요인에 미치는 영향 관계에서는 학습 동기의 하위요인인 목표 지향적 동기와 학습 지향적 동기가 진로 요인에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 성인 학습자는 학습 동 기에서 목표지향 동기와 학습지향 동기가 높은 경우 진로 요인이 높아진다는 것을 알 수 있다. 본 연구 결과를 통해 성인 학습자의 효과적인 맞춤형 교육과정의 개발과 교육환경 개발에 기초자료 를 제시하며, 새로운 일자리와 진로를 찾는 성인 학습자를 위한 맞춤형 진로지도 방안을 제시할 수 있 을 것으로 기대된다. 또한 성인 학습자들을 위한 학과개설과 맞춤형 프로그램을 개발하기 위해서는 다 각도의 노력을 기울이며, 향후 정규과정에 재학 중인 성인 학습자들을 대상으로 한 연구확장에 기초자 료로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.
