This study analyzes the determinants that impact adolescent suicide among those aged 15-19, focusing on the region of Gochang-gun in South Korea. Adolescent suicide is a pressing issue in our society, and its rate is the highest among industrialized OECD countries. Therefore, solving this problem is essential for the mitigation of social ills and the protection of youth. In this study, a logit model was used to analyze the factors influencing suicidal ideation among adolescents in Gochang-gun (which has the lowest rate of suicidal ideation in Jeollabuk-do) and Buan-gun (which has the highest rate of suicidal ideation in Jeollabuk-do). According to the main analysis results, factors such as satisfaction with school life, male gender, fear of becoming a victim of crime, leisure time, and income level were partially significant. There were also differences found when comparing areas with the highest (Buan-gun) and lowest (Gochang-gun) suicidal ideation rates. Based on these findings, there is a need to improve adolescents' satisfaction with school life, and more institutional efforts to prevent suicide are expected. Activation measures such as civic education will play an important role in this endeavor.

본 연구의 목적은 전라북도 고창군 등 지역을 중심으로 15-19세 청소년의 자살 충동에 대한 요인 을 분석하는 것이다. 청소년의 자살은 우리 사회의 이슈로, OECD 선진국에서 가장 높은 것으로 나 타나고 있다. 따라서, 이러한 문제의 해결은 사회적 병폐의 회복과 청소년을 보호하기 위해서 필요 하다. 본 연구는 분석을 위해서, 로짓분석을 활용했으며 고창군(자살충동률이 전북 지역내 가장 낮 음)을 중심으로 분석하였다. 주요 분석 결과에 따르면 학교생활에 대한 만족도, 남성, 범죄피해 발생 에 대한 두려움, 여가시간 및 소득수준 등이 부분적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 청소년의 자살충동이 가장 높은 지역(부안군)과 낮은 지역(고창군)을 비교한 결과에서도 차이가 드러나는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 통해 청소년의 학교생활에 대한 만족도를 제고할 필요가 있으며, 추가 적인 자살예방을 위한 제도적 노력이 필요할 것으로 예상된다. 이를 위해서 민주시민교육 등의 활성 화 방안이 중요할 것으로 판단된다.
