This study selected 67 research papers on educational leadership out of 119 published over the past five years (2017~2021) in 『Educational Administration Quarterly』 (EAQ), a representative journal in the field of educational administration, and analyzed them based on educational leadership execution subjects, leadership types, research topics, and research methods. The main analysis results are as follows. First, the principal(41.4%) was the most common subject of educational leadership, followed by educational leaders and whole teachers·school leaders, and the frequency of educational leaders and school leaders increased compared to the past. Second, instructional leadership(25.0%) was the most common type of educational leadership, followed by distributed leadership and social justice leadership, and various leadership types were studied. Third, leadership performance and characteristics(49.3%) were the most common research topics, followed by leadership effects, leadership diagnosis and development, leadership theory and policy. Fourth, qualitative research(47.3%) was the most common research method, followed by quantitative research, literature research, and mixed research. Based on these analysis results, the recent research trends of U.S. educational leadership were confirmed, compared with past research trends analysis studies(2009~2013), and implications for educational leadership research were presented.

이 연구는 미국 교육리더십의 최근 연구경향을 파악하기 위하여 미국 교육행정 분야의 대 표적인 학술지 『Educational Administration Quarterly』(EAQ)에 최근 5년간(2017~2021) 게 재된 119편의 논문 중 교육리더십에 관한 논문 67편을 선별하여 교육리더십 실행주체, 리더 십 유형, 연구주제, 연구방법을 준거로 분석하였다. 주요 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교 육리더십의 실행주체는 학교장(41.4%)이 가장 많고, 교육리더, 전 교원·학교리더 순으로 나타 났는데, 과거에 비해 교육리더와 학교리더의 빈도가 늘어났다. 둘째, 교육리더십 유형은 수업 리더십(25.0%)이 가장 많고, 분산적 리더십, 사회정의 리더십 순으로 나타났는데, 다양한 리더 십 유형이 연구되었다. 셋째, 연구주제는 리더십 수행 및 특성(49.3%)이 가장 많고, 리더십 효 과, 리더십 진단 및 발달, 리더십 이론 및 정책 순으로 나타났다. 넷째, 연구방법은 질적연구 (47.3%)가 가장 많고, 양적연구, 문헌연구, 혼합연구 순으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석 결과를 바 탕으로 미국 교육리더십의 최근 연구경향을 확인하고, 과거 연구경향 분석 연구(2009~2013)과 비교하였으며, 교육리더십 연구에 대한 시사점을 제시하였다.
