This study draws attention to the fact that although smartphones are one of the technical tools essential in the modern society, the excessive use of them may cause various problems, and that particularly, youths are more exposed to the use of smartphones and their dependence on smartphones is likely to increase. Accordingly, the objective of this study is to understand the effects of negative parenting attitudes and learned helplessness on smartphone dependence. Particularly, the respective effects of parents' negative parenting attitudes and youths' learned helplessness on smartphone dependence are examined. To this end, KCYPS(2018) cohort data are utilized. The following are the results of analysis: First, smartphone dependence is in a static correlation with parents' negative parenting attitudes (r=.289) and learned helplessness (r=.386). Second, the explanatory power of effects of parents' negative parenting attitudes and learned helplessness on youths' general smartphone dependence is 16.7%. Based on the findings above, this study suggests a supporting resource system and related policies to reduce youths' smartphone dependence.

본 연구는 스마트폰의 사용이 현대 사회에서 필수 불가결한 기술적 도구 중 하나이지만, 과도한 사용은 다양한 문제를 야기 할 수 있다는 점과 특히, 청소년들은 스마트폰 사용에 더욱 노출되어 있 으며, 이로 인해 스마트폰 의존도가 증가할 수 있다는 점에 주목하였다. 이를 위하여 부정적 양육태 도와 학습된 무기력이 청소년의 스마트폰 의존도와 관련이 있는지 파악하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 특 히, 부모의 부정적 양육태도와 청소년의 학습된 무기력이 스마트폰 의존도에 미치는 각각의 영향을 확인하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 KCYPS(2018) 코호트 자료를 활용하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 스마트폰 의존도는 부모의 부정적 양육태도(r=.289)와 학습된 무기력(r=.386)은 정적상관을 가지고 있었다. 둘째, 부모의 부정적 양육태도와 학습된 무기력은 청소년의 스마트폰 의존도 전체 영향력은 16.7%의 설명력을 나타냈다. 이를 토대로 청소년의 스마트폰 의존도를 감소시키기 위 필 요한 지지자원체계 구축과 정책적 제언을 하고자 한다.
