This study explores ethical conflicts with parents experienced by adapted PE teachers in the special context of physical education for the disabled through narrative interviews about ethical conflicts with parents and the process of solving them, and considers how to deal with the problem. To this end, eight adapted PE teachers who have more than three years of experience in a adapted physical education institution located in Seoul, who has work experience related to the research topic, and who has a sufficient understanding of the adapted physical education job, culture, and educational environment were selected as research participants. Then their vivid testimonies were analyzed using a consensual qualitative research method. This study hopes to suggest a theoretical foundation for enhancing understanding and awareness of the ethics of adapted PE teachers, a field of professional ethics, and seeking institutional measures such as the code of ethics and practical action guidelines to resolve ethical conflicts experienced by adapted PE teachers.

본 연구의 목적은 특수체육교사들이 장애인체육이라는 특수한 맥락에 서 경험하는 학부모와의 윤리적 갈등상황을 탐색하고 그들이 이 문제에 어떻게 대처하는지를 고찰하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 특수체육기관에서 3 년 이상 근무한 경력이 있고, 연구주제와 관련한 경험을 가지고 있으며 특수체육 직무와 문화, 교육환경에 대한 충분한 이해를 갖춘 특수체육교 사 8명을 연구참여자로 선정하여 이들의 생생한 증언을 합의적 질적연 구 방법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구는 ‘학부모와 겪는 윤리적 갈 등’과 ‘윤리적 갈등상황에 대한 대처’ 2개의 영역과 7개의 범주, 14 개의 하위범주를 도출하였다. 본 연구가 전문직으로서 특수체육교사가 갖추어야 할 윤리에 대한 이해와 인식을 제고하고, 특수체육교사들이 겪 게 되는 윤리적 갈등상황을 합리적으로 해결하기 위한 윤리강령 및 행 동 지침서 등의 제도적 방안을 모색하는데 이론적 토대를 제공할 수 있 기를 기대한다.
