In the post-COVID era, when the importance of education for overseas Koreans is increasing day by day and the culture of Untact is spreading, it is necessary to check and prepare the educational capabilities of Korean schools to be ready for the 4th industrial revolution. Accordingly, the current status, characteristics, and limitations of Korean language, history, and cultural education in Korean schools were examined, and as a supplement, we looked at ways to efficiently utilize metaverse technology “augmented reality, life logging, mirror world, and virtual world” in the education of Korean schools. Educational application methods were proposed to enhance practicality and mutual communication skills, such as strengthening reading education useful for language acquisition, expanding opportunities to experience history and culture, and developing literary works for language learners. This can be used as basic data for practical measures of metaverse-based Korean school education, and it is expected to contribute to improving educational completeness and expanding educational opportunities for students with poor access to Korean schools. The substantial realization of non-face-to-face education for Korean schools will be a driving force to grow and develop together as a wider next-generation educational community for overseas Koreans beyond content.

재외동포 교육의 중요성이 날로 높아지고, 언택트(untact)문화가 확산되고 있 는 포스트 코로나 시대에 4차산업혁명 준비를 위한 한글학교의 교육 역량에 대한 점검과 방안이 필요하다. 이에 한글학교 한국어·역사·문화교육의 현황과 특징 및 한계를 살피고, 메타버스 기술인 ‘증강현실, 라이프로깅, 거울세계, 가상세계’ 를 한글학교 교육에 효율적으로 활용하는 방안을 알아보았다. 구체적으로 언어습 득에 유용한 읽기 교육 강화, 역사문화 체험 기회 확대, 언어학습자 문학작품 개발 등 실제성과 상호소통력을 높일 수 있는 교육적 적용 방법을 제안하였다. 본 논문 은 메타버스 기반의 한글학교 교육 실천 방안의 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이 며, 한글학교의 제한된 수업 시간과 교육 영역을 확대함으로써 교육 완성도를 높 이고 한글학교 접근성이 떨어지는 학생들의 교육 기회 확장에 기여할 것으로 기대 된다. 나아가 한글학교 대상 비대면 교육의 내실 있는 실현은 콘텐츠를 뛰어넘어 보다 광범위한 재외동포 차세대 교육 공동체로서 함께 성장·발전하는 원동력이 될 것이다.
